Loosely based on 'Radar Rat Race' for the Commodore 64 (you have to be at least as old as me to have played it when it originally was released). This is my \"screw around file\" in which I test out things (mostly plotscripts) before implementing them into something like Wingedmene: Part One. Currently there is only one floor (and thus one tileset, one map, and about 10 minutes of play, tops), but already NPCs respond with one of 4-9 text boxes, depending on what items you have, who you've talked to, and what computer terminals you've read. Each NPC is not only named, but also responds according to their personality... be it Anthony, the compulsive gambler; Johnathan, the Red Rat chaser who parties too much and wakes up in the Blue Rat rooms; Carson, asleep in the barracks the entire demo; Eugene, the loner; or Edmund, a genius who refuses to see Radar as anything but an uneducated neandrathalic almost rat.
The game centers around Radar Nin, a champion maze runner (maze running is a sport of one runner, three to five chasers, and three to nine speed enforcers... usually cats). Though he's one of the few rodents on the super computer world never to have wondered what question goes with the answer 42, Radar's troubles start when his curiosity leads him to peek into a room the computers should not let him into. The computers say nothing is wrong, so why is he getting into rooms he doesn't have the security clearance for?
