I am making a RPG with several of my "friends". The page describing everything is http://wuw.clamburger.org/wiki/OHR_game
Instead of using my choice of "Zenny," everyone else wanted Duto. Go figure.

I notice the last character, named Raiku, has a gunblade and casts spells that end in -ara and -aga. Please tell me these are placeholders.

If you're going to use Final Fantasy spell names, you might as well use the right ones (Thunder, Blizzard, Quake, and Aero... not Lightning, Ice, Earth, and Wind. Or Bolt, Ice, Quake, and Aero if you prefer the "old school SNES-era" English translations.)
But yeah, not using Final Fantasy spell names at all would be a good idea. There's about a billion other ways to name spells, even if they are just the basic elementals... and borrowing Final Fantasy spell names tends to drive people away from your game, especially if it's not a Final Fantasy-related game but uses FF terms anyway. |

It took me a while to figure out what this means. Apparently "Duto" is the game world's currency.
Zenny, however, is essentially Capcom currency, used in a number of Mega Man, Street Fighter, and Dragon Ball games.
Sounds like the brainstorming team over there is taking a handful of ideas from other game universes. I have no idea if this is intentional or not (or if they're placeholders as Moogle suggests), but be aware of your game's nomenclature. |

Raiku (who named his character after himself) is an idiot and pretty much universally unloved by the community over there. Elemental attacks are going to be the element name followed by 1, 2, or 3 as to avoid confusion about element and strength. I've since made him choose again.

It's a community game with people you don't enjoy? Or are they only people submitting characters to the game? I wonder how many people are actually going to be making this game - methinks if this was your idea, you'll probably have trouble getting anyone else to do anything. I know how it is: I'm terribly unreliable. Uh, I mean... good luck
