It's been atleast a year since I posted anything up in my journal, I'm announcing a new project, that I've been working on for the past six or seven months, while at this moment in production it is still full of placeholder graphics, and quite a few dodgy songs, its a step up from anything else I've ever worked on, I'll be posting a 3 chapter long demo in the next week or so, maybe even sooner than that for playtesting reasons. Here are some assorted screen shots:

Here is a typical battle, towards the beginning of the game you rarely have more than 2 to 3 people on the party at any one time.

Here is the overworld, I've gone for a fairly simplistic style this time around, and using advice from old games, have avoided linear mountains.

Here are 8 of the main characters that you can control, there are more later, some are good, some are doing things for the greater good, some don't even know who they are anymore...

I'll post more images sooner or later, I'm looking foward to this project Big grin

Thanks very much for the offer binoal, but its so close to the release of the first demo now that I'm litrally just doing minor tweaks and removing most of the placeholder graphics before initial demo release, I would of siad yes had it been earlier on, I'll ask you to play test a bit before the second demo for sure however.

I've updated a few old backdrops that just looked plain ugly, and almost completed the last dungeon of the demo, after this I need to re-balance certain areas, add a few NPC portraits, (to make future heroes harder to spot :p), and also I really need to make some fitting fnfare music :p nothing I've wrote goes well with the end of a battle at the moment :S

Production is going slower than I'd expected, but a demo should be released sometime this week, if not then early next week.

Also here's a preview song from the game:

Today I've updated the portrait pictures, some hero and walkabouts that needed retouching, and finnished the final demo dungeon complete with plotscripts and other stuff.

What needs doing:-
- Fixing a puzzle that's currently broken
- Add some areas that aren't there yet (that should be :S)
- Sort out/Fix some hidden fun stuff
- Add some generic portrait pictures
- Add some emote portraits
- Make all demo skills accessable
- Add/Update some attack graphics and sounds
- ????
- Profit

I'll red out things when they're done, or green them out if posponed.

At the rate things are going expect a demo ready for later today or tomorow, the puzzle has became a real pain, I found out that (luckily) the tags and script weren't broken...it was just poorly designed...(you can figure out each piece of the puzzle in like 5 seconds at the moment...), mostly all of the generic portraits have been applied...however, I'm leaving some out this release due to textbox space consern/problems, I may do a quick fix release sometime next week that has all the generic portraits in the textboxes...but until then some plot important characters text boxes will be quite bland...

An absolute crucial part of this game, and its storytelling will rely on the currently non-exsistant emotes that the characters will all have, this will be an easy fix however and will be next on my priorities after I fix the damn puzzle...

Besides that, all that'll need doing is a final balance check, and then I'll release :p

Thanks to (anyone) if they've actually been following this journal. :S

At long last! I've fixed that damn puzzle, its fully functional, and isn't too hard...(I hope)

Now all thats left is the Emotes and the final balancing, it'll be released by the end of the day (at a moderate push)

I've sorted out the portraits, all of them...

*ahem* all I need to do now is a quick balance tweak here and there (at the moment I play through the whole game without running from any encounters to set the difficulty of areas)

Also I've decided to sort out some of the hidden fun stuff despite saying that it is to be posponed, it's nothing big in this version, but after the first demo release I'll work on some of the REALLY fun stuff.

I'm not gonna spoil much about this game yet, but I think now is a good time to give an explanation of this game:

Long ago (about a year ago now) I came into this community with a rather aweful game, I called this game Thella, the graphics were bad, the water/trees/etc all looked 2D, I'm rather embarrest that those where the improved verion of the graphics...I did that after playing Cresant Dream.

Its been at least a year since then, and I've been working on a game called Legends Of Nedaria, initially it was going to be a graphical rehash of Thella, and...now...its still a graphical rehash of Thella, the plot has been stripped down and built back from the ground, the graphics have been redone, it has all origional sounds and music and overall its a completely different game. Its the game I meant the origional to be.

It should be released within the next hour or so, I hope that you will all enjoy the game :p
