Save them as .png, not .bmp. If you save as .png, Photobucket probably wouldn't have to convert them in the first place.

Besides that, your graphics continue to look better.

Yes, that's much better, thanks.

But the text is still too dark. I'm guessing it looks better at a lower resolution, but it's very hard to read at this size.

12/6/08

no entry last week due to thanksgiving.
no music entry this week due to my friend being gone and the program is at his house. (i dont think anyone listened to olmins theme anyways...)

THIS WEEK, I corrected the perspective on the diagonal brick tiles, made a kick-nads boss death animation. i'd love to show you all, but im afraid you'll just have to wait for the first demo release ;D

^ fixed perspective

i've also decided a name, at least for now so I wont have to call the project STUFF.RPG anymore. Here, have a title screen.

(note: title screen and name are all work in progresses until i think of something better...)
I know I did more, but SATs wore me out today so i cant remeber all i did. mayby some story tweaks. bah.

I notice you got the bottom corners angled, but the top corners aren't. Any reason for that? I also find it really curious the the edges are bricked. It looks cool, but the impression it gives is that the land is manmade. Again, not necessarily bad, I just find it interesting.

yes, the water way is man-made. It's not greatly important in the storyline, but slightly relevant to one of the first minor objectives in the game.

slight spoilers:you come across a scientest in an old shack that apperantly knows you. he asks you to power up his waterwheel so he can receive an e-mail on his computer.

UPDATE TIME!

well, sorta. Ive been forgetting to do this so ill do it now, but ill have to upload pics tomarrow because its late.

anyways, these two weeks i worked mostly on graphics and some audio. the game will feature a preview in surlaw's hamsterspeak. (I'll send stuff in for that tomarrow too...) But this week i added a new town, (Belton? maybe.) to the map. its a small mining town with a train stop. Del is sent here to take a train to the next town over to find a long lost friend of the docter we meet in grassy way.

again, no pictures. ill add them NOW! Big grin

An unnamed gunsmith's house. See those cogs in the back? they spin.

the gunsmith himself, just traveling on the same train as you.

thanks for ready

This is awesome. I like that idea. As soon as the apocalypse comes and destroys all civilization, the first thing I am going to do is to construct a water-wheel so I can generate power and continue to read castleparadox :)

This. It looks great. I would add a slight highlight to the cogs to give them a bit more shape, but not a very bright highlight because it's in the shadows.

Well, ive got news...

im remaking the game in freebasic as a sidescroller. I have my reasons for doing this, and itll probably take longer, much longer to finish but in the long run hopefully itll turn out more so like i have desired it to be.

the picture above isnt actual gameplay yet, but rather a pixel mock-up of what i hope it too look like at the first miniboss, olmin. (and yes, he does shoot lazers from his mouth)

if anyone would like to provide help with some code id be thankful. dont bother critiquing the pic though, the gameplay im sure will look much different

UPDATE:

Sorry, no pic. ive done too little this week for pics.

anyways i need help from some of you. I cant find a good platformer freebasic tutorial. lately ive been just making raw sprite pages for some characters but i really need to find a tutorial or source code or something... ANYTHING! This games eather gonna be a huge success or a huge failure depending on if i can find the resources i need.

On a side note ive started work on another game for a contest. its about a battery and his epic struggle to recharge in time.

EDIT: nvm im probably gonna do this in python.
