There are many areas you can explore in-game. Some are open for you to explore freely, other require you to complete a task or quest first.
With a huge world map being divided into 4 major areas, each containing over a dozen cities, caves, towns, dungeons, castles and plains. Each Crystal must be created using objects you find by completing quests or dungeons within specific areas:

Cave/Volcano Areas
Red Crystal:

Lors Ruby
Eternal Flame

Desertic Areas:
Green Crystal:
Ghail Emerald
Sands of Time

Aquatic Areas:
Blue Crystal:

Morsell Sapphire
Faery Winds

Sky/Forest Areas:
Yellow Crystal:

King Truntom's Eye
Living Sun

MAJOR CITIES:
-Dalazhaar
-Elay
-Truntomias
-Morsell
-Ghail Undeground City

DUNGEONS:

ELAY TREE DUNGEON:
The city of Elay is a very large city in the sky. But it does not float, it is attached to Aikonia's largest and tallest tree. The only ways to get there are by airship, or through the treetrunk itself, which has a dungeon made of several floors within it.

NALBINA DUNGEONS:
This dungeon is found under the castle of Nalbina, it's directly attached to the sewers and is known to be infested with creatures. Used to hold the castle's prisoners, it is also difficult to have access and to go though.

GHAIL'S DESERT DUNGEON:
An ancient castle, sunk a long time ago with the town of Ghail, the town itself is still alive, under the sands of the desert, but the castle was lost and is said that only the ghail emerald can reveal it's location. Within it lurks the bones of Ghail's ancestors, awakening them would not be a enjoyable.

That's all for now~
