How is this:

His body proportions are right now.
But I think his arm and shoulders need help.

His large feet are hard to capture from the side angle, without making him look like someone from Kingdom of Hearts, so I'll leave them alone for now.

Edit:I think I've given him the weightier look hes been crying for:

Wich one is better, the first one or this one?
What needs improvement?

It kinda looks like his arm is coming out of his ear. He looks much better in terms of proportion, and if you moved the arm forward and down a pixel (Or just get it out of his ear) it'd look perfectly fine.

How is this? (The third one from the left)

I don't think I can do anything to make his arm look as if it isn't coming out of his ear, without making his sides look disproportioned compared to his front and back.

His arm looks a bit broken now.

quick edit:

This is using the last edit of yours, but I just cut the shoulder lower. Hope you don't mind.

Your edit leaves his shoulders too low in comparison to his front and back shoulders.

His shoulders being placed so high in the first place was so they would be the same in the side angle as the would in the front and back.

I guess I'll leave him with his shoulder stuck in his ear.
I don't really notice it whilst testing my game, so I think that's the best thing I can do for now.

Can you fix it any better than it is?

You could also try moving his shoulders 1 pixel down in the forward and back animations. Jack's shoulder fix makes a huge difference and I think it's worth exploring other options to try and incorporate it.

Jack's edit leaves the hair too long, if it is shortened the hero looks disproportioned, the same happens if I lower his shoulders in the front and back.

Jack's edit looks great, but any attempts I've made at incorporating it, ruin the front and back animations.

Edit: Whilst working on another walkabout for my game, I think I've come across the solution for our hero's "Arm stuck in ear" problem, whilst keeping his proportions correct.

Here it is:

Of course, to be sure, I need your opinions.

I've started working on making this game playable, I'm also refining it's tileset.

In about two or three days, expect a playable demo, and a tileset that needs some critisicm. Happy

Also, does anyone know how to turn of the "blurring" effect that occurs when zooming in on images in firefox 3?

I lost Moonlight in a crash, losing all my progress for that game kinda broke my motivation towards it, so I started a new game, "Eternal Dreams".
You seem to have encountered a problem strangly similar to mine
In the latest edit, your hero sorta looks obese in his forward/back when compared to your side sprites.

Just out of curiosity, when you guys are losing your games to these crashes, are you able to find any leftover of your games (perhaps working.tmp folder), or do your .rpg files just turn up with nothing inside?

I still had the working.tmp folder when my game crashed.

And, scython reaper, is there anyway I could fix his "Obesity"?

Just run OHRRPGCE again and it'll discover the game unlump. Let it re-lump into a .bak file then rename the .bak into an .RPG.

Make him a pixel or two skinnier? Even I did that in one of my edits (which I no longer have since I only shown it in IRC).

It's a bit too late for that...

After thinning my hero, I couldn't believe how terrible he looked. I think I'll leave him the way he is, besides, him looking obese is a matter of opinion, as is him looking average, which, in my opinion and my brother's is how he looks, although if a larger number of people agree he looks obese, then yes, I will thin him.

I don't think that he looks obese. Actually, the only thing that really threw me off was the shadow. I thought at first that he just had incredibly big feet, and I still see that way now. I'd just get rid of it, myself.
