Warning:

Upon looking back, I was shocked at how horrible my English used to be.

Unfourtunately, Level 3 is not high enough.

Still the most sophisticated script I've ever written.

If you're willing to take a look at this game and tell me what I did wrong all those years ago, your input would be much appreciated.

So far the only feedback I can remember getting about the game were a few off-hand "it kinda sucks" remarks, a few off-hand "it was frustrating at times" remarks, and a very short review summed up as "Akira is too powerful, the graphical style is okay, and the color choices are terrible."

I probably should have asked for this sooner, but I really want to know where I skrewed up.

Also, I have no idea how to make unstackable support spells. This was my greatest undoing in this game's ballance.

you didnt take it seriously + you included yourself directly into your storyline.

Now on to a question: how do you make unstackable support spells?

You went wrong in the fact that just by merely looking at the game one is able to tell that not much work went into it. Or if work did go into it, not enough.

Also, yiff, yiff, yiff.

I made this game from when I was fifteen to when I was seventeen. Nothing was further from my mind at the time than sex.

I know furries are easy to troll, but inplying that sexual content exists in a game that clearly has none is not the way to get a rise out of me.

And sometime just around Surlaw's reply, I remembered a really great OHR game where the author inserted himself diredctly into the story. While it is a sign of downfall, it won't necessarily cause it.

Perfect example of why putting yourself into a game is bad:

Maybe someone can help me out here with the name of it, but it starred some black kid who went to school and stuff. I have no idea wtf it was called.

130 points for giz. Yeah, that game had hours of gameplay, but it was HORRIBLE.

Do you still fail to understand? The fact that there have been good games with author-insert characters as part of the main plot proves that it is not really a bad thing; however, in 99.25% of all cases I know, it is a sign of overall sloppiness and will go hand-in-hand with other, legitimate types of failure.

I didn't need an "example" of why it's bad; there has never been a shortage of those. My point is that if it can be done right, it can be done right.

Need I remind anyone of OHR House 3? JSH is a character in it, and he is the author. I'm sure most people here will say that it's an entertaining OHR movie.

What of the comment "you didn't take it seriously"? I don't know how you can tell if a game was being taken seriously by looking at it; each element in the game was my best effort, at the time I put it in.
Does humorous text make the game unserious? Does a game's being unserious mean that its author doesn't take it seriously?

I don't know. You guys are the experts on everything and whatever I say is wrong.
