Chances are you've seen my name, not that it would ring a bell now, but I come every now and then, every 3 or 5 years actually... Why? Good question. OHRRPGCE was my first gaming engine back when I was only used to doing Quickbasic stuff, and I guess we can say the --- Cuts the crappy emo intro.
Point is, I'm glad to see ohr adapted to the new era of Windows XP and it gave me the reason I've always been waiting for to come back here and join up with the community once again, make games, etc. So I guess I'll stick around this time? Hopefully. I've seen there are familiar faces : Moogle1, Gizmog, dunno bout Grandtrain Golem and Rinku, but they were around back in the day, though I can see the place is getting vastly popular over time
Well cheers all! |

J.A.R.S.? I've been within the OHR Community eight years buddy, but not once do I remember J.A.R.S. You had to have gone by a different name back then. I'm not sure you'd remember me, my past aliases were DPG,Jigglypuff and Xerian. Good to see another member back in the fray because of the windows adaption (that was what brought me back as well ). _________________ http://www.castleparadox.com/gamelist-display.php?game=750 Bloodlust Demo 1.00

Honestly, I must confess I've been here only a very long time ago, prior to this castleparadox community (maybe a previous version or something) it must've been 8 years indeed. I was james smith probably by then, and you probably know me from Magnus 13 in the magnus contest? Apparently its not in the castle paradox database, so I'll see if I still have a copy somewhere... it was a rushed up thingy and graphic had suffered greatly, not a great game all in all, but still, potentially better than all those F- considering the time limitation
Other than that, I came regularly about each 2 or 3 years saying one "hi" starting up a fight and leaving naw, im exagerating, but still.
The windows update is one of the biggest reasons why I came back, ive downloaded tons of games and im checking on the late progresses and I'll slowly get back into the actual engine soon.
This will be a drastic change from the last 4 or 5 years I've spent coding in visual basic and dark basic, to re-learn scripting after hardcoding, but I take it the new broadened horizons of OHR (Windows) will be interesting to work around in a familiar environment. I can only guess as to what was added to the plotscripting in the last 7 years |

I remember a James Smith... I think I remember you entering the Magnus contest. Welcome back. Rinku is still seen around here (not an OHR user), Grandtrain disappeared 4 or 5 years ago, and I haven't heard of Golem. |

I barely remember a James Smith myself. Also, I do believe I have a zip file on one of my CD backups with all the magnus games submitted for the contest.
So JARS, since you are an OHR vet and you came back here for one of the main reasons I did, perhaps you would like to give playtesting my latest game a go? It's a horror survival game, and I haven't released a demo yet, but I'd be happy if you could playtest and let me know what you think It uses most of the OHR's newest features too, so you can see what that is like. _________________ http://www.castleparadox.com/gamelist-display.php?game=750 Bloodlust Demo 1.00

Your name is unfamiliar, perhaps a new nickname? And as for Magnus, do not worry, I have finally managed to grab my old copy from a dusty geocities account and hosted it over here I tested it, fully works... It's a bad game, there is no disputing that BUT, as I said in its journal, it had great potential on the design aspect of the plotline...
Nice introduction of your project And in recognition of your Oh so remarkable manipulation skills, I will play right into your hands and playtest it! God, I'm so influenced easily...
Edit: I see you have no put a download on castleparadox, so I'll await for a Pm with instructions on how to get the unstable version? |
