I'm truly fascinated with religion, and love to think of the ways it could work. I also have a keen admiration for fantasy worlds people construct. For a while it's been a bored idle task of mine to create a fantasy world with its own religion, thinking of little social workings and landscapes and working gods into the mix and such. It didn't get anywhere, and it didn't get there rather slowly, but it was a modest pleasure, substantial enough to keep me from having a stroke in english.
It wasn't until fairly recently that I thought of another approach. Instead of thinking of a world and then gods over it, wouldn't it be more sensible to go in the order of the creation? My attempts thus far have pleased me. _________________ "Everyone has 200,000 bad drawings in them, the sooner you get them out the better."

do you seriously expect people to take you seriously when you make absurd remarks such as that? |

Honestly, there is no religious discussion. This is actually more about mythology, but I refer to it as theology simply because I like to feign open-mindedness.
Back on topic...
This world I'm about to describe was actually somewhat thought-out prior to my new method came around, but only slightly so. The original concept was actually a TI-83+ game, and the details, if they ever were to matter, were as such: Hero X appears in a spirit-world villiage, and he has a gold eye with magical properties. Basically, he had to collect the souls of some powerful race in his eye and when he had enough take on the moon or something like that (the moon was a bad guy!). Yeah, needless to say that went precisely nowhere.
So anyway, thoughts came around, and eventually I started developing the hero's background. Importantly, he was human, and the moon was directly connected with humans. The eye was still there because it was just cool, but I decided that the hero was a pirate and stole the eye and used it cause he's a pirate and is missing an eye, duh. The way he got to the spirit world in the first place involved some plunder of some temple gone wrong (the temple was in space, Ishould add). I thought it was rather clever the way it worked out.
So anyway, I finally came with aforementioned method, and here's the origin of the universe:
In the world of the gods, there were three main races. One believed primarily in the perfection of mind (note to self and others: Must find words for people by such philosophies as this and the following), another in the perfection of body (which included their magical godly powers, senses, all that good stuff), and one in the perfection of relationships (intimate, social, and on. Maybe I'll call these guys communists?). The details beyond this I'll work out but they don't tend to get along, particularly the first and second groups. Through a heavy conflict, most of the first guys, hereby referred to as A, found refuge from the second guys, hereby referred to as B, in a separate universe of sorts, which one particularly gifted god was able to reach, and being out of "heaven" they had no worries (let's call the third group C whenever it might come up).
So, this new world was a sort of massive chunk of rock, and with their godliness they carved a huge sphere out of it, and lived on the inside surface (since the rest of the universe was solid, duh). Civilization grew, and after æons merged with the matter with which they lived and became physical beings, while retaining all divine prowess, and they branched into societies, birthed, lived, aged, faded into their kind, or perhaps linger, retaining some ancient knowledge and lore.
Unknown to all but the most ancient, there was another kind living in this world, an eternity prior to their coming. These spirits, as it turned out, had been communicating with the aforementioned god when his reflection came upon their world. It was they who led him through a rift in space, and prepared a mass for the gods to mold. In a technical explaination, they were strong embodiments of light, alien to heaven and unseen. A temple was built on the rift, and a body constructed for the ancient gods to posess and live with the spirits.
Well, æons passed, so memories inevitably faded as they were passed and spread with birth and death. Well, in heaven, it hasn't been nearly so long, and all the B guys are pretty much still alive. Two particularly irate fellows have discovered the lost power of trans-universal travel. The two, set into the new world and tore through the rift, engulfing the surrounding mass and molding it into a new world within the other. They lifted it to the center of the sphere, and created three bodies, one for each, glowing from the tormented souls trapped within, and a third to grow a new soulless sort of life, meant only to breed, expand, and grow in strength and rage until it calls dominion over the very sky.
So, some details to fill in, a grand mythos to perhaps expand and complete, but a nice deal i think so far. _________________ "Everyone has 200,000 bad drawings in them, the sooner you get them out the better."
