I have major depression, anxiety, and so many phobias. I take pills every morning and every night but they never seem to do anything. I'm always shaking and I suffer from consant panic attacks, anxieties and unfounded fears. Sometimes at night I cry for no reason, and I always feel so lonely. I've tried to kill myself several times since I was eight years old. Everything seems so big, so cold... The pills! They do nothing! Fucking Prozac and Geodon, they do NOTHING!

Somebody diagnose me.

Uh-oh...

Sounds like you're a lonely type of guy. Depressed? Yeah, that's the reason why you're suffering from numerous phobias, anxieties and depression itself. Taking pills can be hazardous for they have side effects on you, and you surely know that. I guess the cure for depression is to be cheerful, have a positive outlook and disposition, join the company of your friends, and enjoy your life to its fullest. I hope you're doing fine out there, Val. I never thought of suffering such as that, you know... Razz

It's so hard to be positive when everything in life just gets you down.

Talking about it is a really good step in the right direction.

Depression is really rough-- I have suffered from it myself-- and I know it is extra hard if you don't have anybody to talk to about it. People who have never suffered depression don't understand very easily.

In my experience, the best medicine for depression is love. And if that is in short supply, friends are almost as good. I don't know whether or not you think of the OHR community as a group of friends, but I know if you weren't here, I would sure as heck miss seeing your face (avatar, whatever) around here :)

And the third best medicine for depression is excercise. Sounds dumb, but it is really true. The body and the mind are connected in strange and unexpected ways, and you would be amazed at how just going for a run will make you feel better. I resisted even trying that tactic for years, because I thought, how can something physical solve my emotional problems? -- it doesn't solve them, but it does help somehow. Like you can't just "choose" to stop being depressed... but if you choose to stand up, you really can do it, and if you choose to pick up the phone and talk to a friend, you really can do it, and that positive action unlocks something inside... or something like that :)

I believe I am now officially rambling ;)

Yeah, James Paige is right.

I've experienced that, too. But I overcame it.

The cure? It's love... Razz

Thank you guys. Today I woke up feeling like crap, but now I think I can go back to bed feeling much better. Even though my stomach is still in a knot and I'm still shaking, I feel much calmer. Hell, maybe I'll even start looking for this thing you people call... "love." Thanks again for the help, Val out.

Thanks. Now I know that you're feeling okay a bit, I'm kinda relieved here.

Love? It's in the air.

When you need a friend, we're here.

And count me in... Big grin

Thanks, Ryu. Big grin

While we're on the subject of "love," I have a problem for y'all. About a month and a half ago I broke up with my sweetheart. Actually, she broke up with me. Anywho, her presence was the thing that really kept me going. When I was with her I felt like nothing could get me down.

But now we're apart. I've gotten over her, now I'm after someone else. The problem is, I don't know how to approach her. What I'm asking is for some help here, fellas, or even ladies. Normally in this situation I would turn to my friends. Unfortunately, I have no friends, so I am turning to my internet buddies.

I have never been good at making new friends, much less new girlfriends. I've spent most of my young life indoors, away from people, isolated in front of a flickering computer monitor much as I am now. I've had friends, true, but they all just seemed to leave me in the end. Even here at CP I've had a pretty hard time getting people to like me, because I'm just not experienced with people.

So, I'm asking for your help. How do I get a girl to like me?

From what I've learned from past relationships and dating sims, the first step is usually just to get to know the person, maybe even to become friends. But as I stated before, I am not good at making friends. What I'm afraid of is that she'll think I'm a creep. I mean, I'm mildly attractive, as long as one's vision isn't perfect, but that probably won't stop her from thinking, "Eww!"

So, any help here? I just want your input on what you think I should do in this situation. Feel free to ask any questions. Until next post, Val out.

What you should do is try to get close to her, then accidentally touch her hand or something to build sexual tension. Soon, she'll be all over you!

PS, sorry you've been so down, Val.

Code:

*You approach girl*
>"Hello there!" [+5 points]
<"Get away, creep!
*You approach girl*
*Go to bed*
*Wake up*
>"Hello there!" [+5 points]
<"Get away, creep!
*Go to bed*
*Wake up*
>"Hello there!" [+5 points]
<"Get away, creep!
[You can now give the girl gifts!]
*You go to mall and purchase a big, shiny $500 jewel*
*You approach girl*
*You give the jewel to the girl* [+10 points]
<"Hi! My name's Jane!"
