I just released this crappy tech demo 2 years after writing it. It think I might put together a collection of tech demos at some point, this is one piece of that. I have plenty of these lying around.
A couple years back I teased everyone with screenshots from this fake 3D engine. Actually, I posted tons of screenshots of it not working and sarcastically praised myself and my game, but nobody could understand what I was on about. I'm finally releasing it with scripts and with the bugs fixed. Actually, the scripts still contain bugs but they don't show up in this demo. Also, Alvanista redrew some of the graphics - there was a plan are some point to make a game from it which I might still do years from now.

I like how it almost seems as though the trees get smaller from the distance, almost. I forgot how technically limiting the ohr is, but I was still dazzled for the brief few seconds I tried your tech demo. It reminded me of an example I once examined about faked 3D in 2D. Certainly considered competition for blockman. Recommended-demo for anyone.
(I was hoping since it was 2 years ago I would see some volkie action, but maybe that wasn't far back enough

I remember now that you were meant to be able to rotate the camera. That would have improved the demo a bit, but I never got round to implementing it.
Very well, the next version will feature you driving around in a VW

Interesting I never knew this was possible, Ill try it out as soon if my parents let me go on the internet(If they ever )
