NEX, yet another NES close, is going to be released soon. Apparently it's legit and going to be available in most retail stores. I'm guessing they had a deal with Nintendo or something, otherwise they wouldn't be able to pull something like this. I'm pretty sure gamestop and other big name retailers will not put illegal stuff on their shelves. I have heard rumors of NES patent expiring, but so far it's unconfirmed.
Legit or not, NEX's instruction manual is probably one of the coolest manual ever designed.

I forgot the actual specs for it. Supposedly it's more powerful than the actual NES. Messiah is toying with the idea of releasing new games for NEX's new technology. Dev kit for third party will probably follow suit if this happens. Thi s is probably the reason for the price tag, but honestly, I'm not sure if anyone would bother making a brand new NES/NEX game. All those NES/Famicom cartridge components probably cost a fortune now.
