Equipment have no class-specific stats. They do not require the party member to be a specific class to be equipped. What the party does require though, is the appropriate training, license and advantage to cancel out the disadvantage that equiping them could cause.

Items can be potions, scrolls, keys, quest objects or anything that you can carry that isn't a piece of equipment or a weapon.

Potions:
Bottled drinks that have several effects, whether it's heal, buff or explode.

Scrolls:
Attach them to a piece of equipment and gain extra stats, resistance or damage for weapons.

There's going to be a more detailed and less general list here eventually.
But for now that's all.
