AKA: Why I haven't been working on my Halloween game

OLD:

NEW:

EVEN NEWER (changed some colors to be more forest like):

I had to create a new palette because my graphics were too dark and saturated. I didn't want to make an overly bright game, so I simply desaturated the palette itself and not have to change much. Incidentally, this pushed the brightness level to become more perfect (while not being overly bright).

Sandsea looks pretty cool in it too (had to edit it a bit, but mostly intact):

That's nice and it kind of sucks at the same time, because the water tile is the one I put the least effort in. If you like it enough, if I ever get around to making a better water tile, I'll just let you have my old ones.

I think this was a good idea, excpet for now the grass looks kind of solid; the dots don't show up too well. I think maybe just one shade lighter for the 'light dots' would make the grass grassier, so to speak.

Also, if you could think of a way to make the smoke look less solid that might be good. Maybe have a mixture of grays or something, I don't know.

Ok. I'll be sure to change those. I didn't work much on the smoke, but I felt it looked acceptable for the time being while I worked on tweaking other tiles. I certainly liked it better than an airbrushed variety, at least.

EDIT: This will be the last time I change the grass, since it seems like this is the most acceptable form. I also added thicker splotches to help kill monotony.

So that just leaves the smoke, and I can continue working on indoor tiles, then...

Your colors are now more subtle. I don't know what else to say about it, except my game's palette also tries to make it that way. Nicer colors for the trees.

Thanks. That's what I was going for. Thanks for the comment on the trees as well, because I had to sacrafice some consistency in contrast in order to get that "more forest-like" color.
