So I got bored and thought, hey, people do make decent RPGs by starting at the beginning and going from there, without much of a big idea. They may not often be finished, but I've seen a lot more progress made than with broad, vague ideas, I can assure you. So, I present to you, built from scratch, the intro to my next game should I make it, formatted carefully for textboxes.

Our story takes place long ago, in the grand kingdom of Bartonia, a marvelous place of fairytales and legends. It was ruled by the great king Hanron and his queen Thyra, who together kept it at peace.

Bartonia was a land of rolling hills, towering mountains, and lush forests full of fairies and trolls, elves and dragons, men and beasts, living in harmony.

But This was a real world, and not everybody was a treasure hunting man of the woods searching for gold and glory.

On the contrary, it was chock-full to the brim with ordinary, unremarkable fellows, with their own real pleasures and vices, revolving their lives around petty village politics.

But what kind of a story does that make?
