Review # 7 for RedMaverickZero
Them's Fightin' Words
Think back when Pokemon was a big hit. Remember the plot of that game? To collect 8 gym badges and then go face the Pokemon Leaque? Well, unfortunately, this game copied that plot... You'd think, oh hey, Pokemon was great, so this should be great too right? Wrong!

Graphics
Graphics were almost so bad they made me cry... Very horrible. The best part of the graphics were the maptiles. Shading was done on the maptiles making them look spiffy. Although, in some areas, the maptiles didn't particularily help the graphics altogether. I personally think these graphics were done in a rush and then the maker was too lazy to go back and make them look decent.

Storyline
As said in the intro... It's Pokemon. I mean, for crying out loud, if you wanted to make a game like Pokemon, just try real hard and make a Pokemon Fan game. Instead of making this waste of time game! But all the same, Pokemon is a fantastic game that will be remembered forever... Hopefully, this game won't have the same effect for it's storyline.

Gameplay
Gameplay was so horrible I almost had to change my socks. Why I said something about socks I don't know. But, in the beginning of the game you started out getting all of your characters, (Not entirely all). And then you go off to some fortress to get a Bridge Key to go to a new part of the world. Unfortunately, when you get the 4th member in the beginning, he's the best character you'll get throughout the game. Which that's a sad thing to see. Because this guy, the only guy worth buying items for, leaves the group within 10 minutes of gameplay... That seriouslly made me want to stop playing. And on top of that, the gameplay is so unbalanced it's not even funny! Ugh...

  Battle
Battles were so horrible I wanted to jump off my house into the driveway. Fortunately I came to my senses and didn't. But anyways, battles were very rough, and evidentally not thought out at all. Enimies were either easy, or so hard you wanted to run into a brick wall! Like I said, when that one guy left the group, the game goes downhill. Everywhere. Although, you were able to teach party members magical abilities to help them in battle. They didn't help much, but the best magic and most useful was the infamous "Cure".

  Map Design
Maps were thought out to a degree. Maptiles, which were the better part of the game, made them look a little bit better. Although, some places could have used more work. Like the fortress, it was small, but it fit what it was supposed to be... The world map is what impressed me the most. It seemed to be very thought out and placed together nicely. The better part of the game, the maps...

  Balance
Oh man, if you've read any of my previous reviews you'll know I look for balance. And it's an important thing, even if everything sucks, at least the game would be balanced. Unfortunately, the balance of this game is wack! As in bad. And on top of that, there are no reviving items when you need them, and you have to use healing items straight from your inventory! And the fights were aweful, the hero stats were even worse than that! But hey, at least there were shops to buy armor and weapons to increase what little chance you had of winning a battle. Man I wish this guy didn't lock the debug keys... It made me miss the F4 button even more.

Music
Music was decent you could say. The fight music was good only because it didn't sound like Final Fantasy music. Although I could be mistaken. Some tunes were familiar, such as some FF7 music. Which I'm starting to see a lot of that nowadays. Still, good stuff, but it's being used way to much...

Enjoyment
I did not enjoy this game, I only finished it to write this review so other players won't make the same mistake I did and download this game. If the graphics, storyline, music, ah heck, if everything was completely redone, then the game might have a slight chance of being enjoyable.

Final Blows
I've played better... but I've played worse too. Hopefully, I won't run into any games worse than this one anytime soon. Games like this have taught me to trully enjoy the games with grades on this site higher than a C-. Because, at least those games had effort put into them. Unlike this one.

Final Scores
Graphics: 2.5/10.0
Hero graphics and walkabouts were beyond horrible... But the maptiles were nice. They made up for what little the other graphics provided.
Storyline: 2/10.0
Pokemon... Just like Pokemon... Without the Pokemon, just the gym battles... Man, that's horrible, think of something original at least.
Gameplay: 3/10.0
Game was unbalanced and some things were more annoying than otheres. But to be fair, it did have a fair amount of gameplay to play...
Music: 6/10.0
Music was the high point of the game. At least the tunes were interesting to hear while I was complaining about everything else. Hehe.
Enjoyment: 2/10.0
I didn't enjoy it all. But this review is all my opinion, heck, you other guys may like the stuff on here, and may enjoy it.
Overall Grade: D-
Final Thoughts
Try working on a team with someone, so some of their good habits will rub off on you and your game making skills. This game has potential, just try to make it better in the areas I mentioned and it could be deserving of a better grade.
