Review # 5 for RedMaverickZero
Them's Fightin' Words
Have you ever eaten crab legs? I haven't. And I downloaded this game hoping it would be funny. I mean, it's a crab going to save the world. Now I don't know about you, but that's funny to me. So I downloaded it to see what it was about. Turns out it's about a weird looking crab named... Crab and a piranha named... Piranha who have to go to the surface to find these spooky UFO's which are really spooky. So Crab and Piranha go around the ocean floor fighting sharks, jellyfish, and other evil sea creatures to get to the surface, but Piranha doesn't like land, so... it ends up with just Crab. And Crab looks so cool when he walks!

Graphics
Graphics weren't too good. The intro was pretty spiffy though. With the crab appearing to be reading a magazine and suddenly a UFO crashes somewhere on land. Well anyways, I'm thinking there were about 5-7 walkabout graphics at the most for this entire game. Which... Seems a little lame. The graphics seemed really plain and ordinary, like it took about 5-10 minutes to draw each picture, or less. But all the same, for the mood that was established, they worked just fine. I think the only big thing that seemed bad was the maptiles. Everything was fine other than that.

Storyline
Storyline was simple. Go save the world. Hehehehe. Which that's the way most games are. Except the game was so short, and you didn't have to fight the UFO's or anything, you just find them... Weird. Perphaps the most exciting thing that happened in the game, was finding the UFO at the end. The characters have no real names, the crab is Crab, the piranha is Piranha. Plain... But for some reason, it works out perfectally. At least I liked it.

Gameplay
Gameplay was odd. Yeah, that's the word for it. The graphics made the game so plain... It was almost disgusting to see how pathetic it was. It really hindered the gameplay. Because if you didn't have the F1 button you wouldn't know where to go, because everything looks the same. Which can be very annoying at times. But all the same, the maps seemed to be thought out. The vastness and largeness of the ocean floor was obviously brought into thought for the maps, so you could say it's a good thing.

  Battle
Battles weren't too bad. There were maybe like 6 enimies throughout the entire game. And if the F4 button wasn't available, the battles would have been very annoying to play. But all the same, the graphics for the battles weren't too terrible. And the crab had a lot of skill lists, but unless all of them were hidden very well, he had no skills for the skill list. Maybe an inside joke to the creator? I don't know.

  Map Design
Maps were plain and crappy. Like two tiles were used (not really but at times it seemed that way). Although, the world map looked pretty neat. I just wish the game wasn't so short so you could explore it and do more. But eh, this game may have been a joke, you know, a crab to go save the world from UFO's...

  Balance
Balance was very well. You had a nice variety of items to use. I look for balance a lot. It seems that balance really makes the game what it is. Like in other reviews I have made, balance was what shot them down. But this game was very balanced. Had it's fair share of items to pick up. And even a spiffy cucumber to get to that gives you a feather that gives you infinite MP. Too bad you have no skills to need it. Hehehe....

Music
There was no music until the ending which was the X-Files theme. So I can't really judge the music...

Enjoyment
I enjoyed the game only because I was eager to see what would happen next, and I thought the crab looked funny, and, well, it's hard to explain, I just thought it was funny as heck watching that tiny little crab waddle around. The piranha was a bit less exciting to watch, but I enjoyed the game, just wish there was more gameplay.

Final Blows
Very very short. It's a shame it is too. You could have done so much with the storyline too. I mean, well, this isn't my game. So I guess I can't tell the creator what to do with it. But I just wish he/she would expand it.

Final Scores
Graphics: 4.5/10.0
The lack of graphics was horrible... But the crab looked so funny to watch. He waddled just like a crab, and that was so cool.
Storyline: 2.5/10.0
The storyline could have been expanded a lot more. But unfortunately, it wasn't. It seemed the most thought went into the intro, rather than the game... Sad to see that, this game had so much potential.
Gameplay: 4/10.0
Gameplay was pretty good I'd say. Although, if there were perphaps better designed bosses and more of the game to play it would have gotten a higher score.
Music: 1/10.0
There was no music... Which is sad... This game had so much potential to have funny background music, after all, like I said, it's a crab, off to save the world. Now that's funny... Just wish there was funny music to go with it.
Enjoyment: 5/10.0
I enjoyed it mostly because of the waddling crab and the funny looking cucumber, other than that I didn't really enjoy it. I only wish that there was more gameplay... So much could have happened when you got out of the water and onto land.
Overall Grade: F+
Final Thoughts
Cool intro...Short game... Weird plot... Enough said... hehehe. Although, an overall makeover wouldn't hurt.
