Review # 42 for Psyco2000
Them's Fightin' Words
This review is for an older version of the game

Ah... Champagne Challange... Don't let the name fool you, this one's not that much fun. It's alchohol free.

STORY: It starts off with you waking up from being knocked out by God-knows-what in God-knows-where with God-knows who. For some reason, you're hired by a bunch of rebels. You find your friends and go out on your merry way. Oh, I should point out that people wish you good luck on your quest BEFORE you even know what it is. It doesn't get much better from there. You find one party member locked in a bridge (yes, IN a bridge) for who knows how long.

GAMEPLAY: Yeesh. Almost unbearable. You run around fighting spiders, pidgeons, mice. and a few wierd things, like the pokish and the Whoop-dee-do. Your entire party is carried by one person in the begining of the game, and another seems to be in a perpetual state of death. The game is also incredibly stingy with experience points, and each battle is long and drawn out. You have to buy all the magic, but seeing as how you could win a fight just by putting a rock on the enter key and coming back later, I don't think it'll matter.

GRAPHICS: >groan< I think I need glasses after playing this one. No shading, and bright colors. You could land a plane on your screen, fer crying out loud. And a few of the characters seem to be cheep FF1 rip-offs. Backdrops are particularly horrible, as heroes and enemies have a tendancy to blend in.

MUSIC: Dull and quiet. And riped. Granted, the music IS good, but it all seems so.... sleep inducing. Basically, the equivilent of Kenny G.

CONSTRUCTION: I have to give these guys credit, they put a lot of thought into this. This game is much larger than the 30-minute demos we usually get here. There are tons of items and enemies, and the world map is friggin' huge. They need to tone a few things down (or up), tho.
Final Scores
Graphics: 1/10.0
Abso-freakin'-lutely awful
Storyline: 1/10.0
Not very good, but better than a few games I've seen
Gameplay: 1/10.0
Very boring, even if they DO put a battle in every 4 secounds
Music: 2/10.0
Good, but seems more geared toward beddybie time than a fight
Overall Grade: F
Final Thoughts
