Review # 41 for Chaos Nyte
Them's Fightin' Words
To begin, I'm not a fan of Star Trek, so I rated this strictly as a OHR game, and didn't base it on how accurate it is to the show. The game starts out in a rather tense scene as your ship, under enemy fire, explodes. Now this would kill a normal man, but not Captain Taeloz! He reappears on another ship filled with "Romulans" who by my gathering information from the game are the most hated race in the universe because of their unusual love of plaid and their laid back posture. He decides the only thing to do is take the ship single handedly...

Graphics - In some spots the graphics really shined, like the "warp drive" but it went swiftly dismal for the rest of the game. Taeloz walks like he has a serious "lower area" problem, and while amusing, doesn't really fit in to the game. Also, Taeloz has a really stupid grin on his face in the battles, which always looked out of place when he fought. Everything should of been gone over again and improved.

Storyline - Another example of someone who needs to play his own game before sending it in. Its disconnected, and you wander around until you hit a event. The whole world has maybe 10 people you don't kill in it. And why is that Taeloz can take down a whole ship of Romulans, but when faced with one later, hes captured. Stupid, stupid, stupid! Then theres two "cities" that hide from a couple of lousy indians because their protected? Gimme a break. Nothing is explained. Maybe it’ll have more appeal to Star Trek Fans.

Gameplay - Points for trying a maze, and well thought out for the most part. Incredibly small houses, and bad maptile use takes away a lot. Think before you build boy! Those mountains were just plain ugly.Theres a total of 5 enemies in the game. And in the first area, theres no damn save point, and you have to be at level 5 to beat the first "boss"! The world you land on has more snakes on it then a zoo. You'd think they’d you get more exp. from killing Romulans, but no, snakes are tougher. Cause there...uh...alien snakes, yeah thats it! Just bad. Oh yeah, that reminds me. Punch for a special move?

Music - Pretty nice actually. I don't know what was ripped from Star Trek and what wasn't, but it fit well.
Final Scores
Graphics: 4/10.0
And this score is generous.
Storyline: 1/10.0
Ugh. This is why crack is outlawed folks.
Gameplay: 2/10.0
Just bad. Someone didn't try and play their own game
Music: 8/10.0
It is pretty good stuff.
Overall Grade: D-
Final Thoughts
Good idea, but dumb characters, slow battles, and a total lack of effort blew this straight to heck. Try again.
