Them's Fightin' Words

Before I begin, I would like to point out that this is actually the first game I have acquired for the OHRRPGCE that was not created by The Goldape Productions or Hamster Republic Productions (not counting Sailor Moon: Another Dimension, because I didn't get that myself). Furthermore, I have played this game twice through and consulted with the author to fill unanswered questions. I have also found this game a good stepping stone into the world of the OHR.

For starters, I must commend this game for having an adequate amount of hero graphics, I have actually played games that only have Standing and Stepping, but this game is only lacking in Dead graphics, which is quite acceptable, but still a mark down. Plus, the graphic drawings are quite good as well, except one problem I had was the hero graphics all look very angry, thus a woman character had a guy's face.

The story of this game follows Leo, a mercenary, and his friend Terry, also a mercenary. They are hired by the Elder of Reiko to steal a special sword from a man named Stragus, who looks alot like Sephiroth of Final Fantasy 7. I will not reveal anything else. But this game is merely a demo, meaning it ends, way too early. The game ends at a very climatic point, leaving us all hanging.

Regarding gameplay, this game is quite good. The hero's stats are high enough that you will not easily die, but low enough that you will not easily kill. The battles did occur quite often on the World Map and in the caves, but were still easy. But the mini-game makes this game much more fun. One poblem I did find on this game is that you can run away from the first boss and proceed as if you had beaten him. Other than that, is was quite good.

The music was all ripped, to put it plainly. But it was mostly good except for the battle music, that got annoying after about five seconds. The rest of the music was used in very fitting situations, though.
Final Scores
Graphics: 7/10.0
The graphics were pretty good, lack of dead graphics and angry faces bring this down a bit though.
Storyline: 8/10.0
Too short, but very good.
Gameplay: 8.5/10.0
Great mini-game, even stats, just put down the 'Unescapable' bitset a bit more.
Music: 7.5/10.0
The battle music sucked, I'm sorry, that's the best way I could think of to put it. The lovliness of the rest of the music made up for this, though. But it also was ripped, but I can forgive.
Overall Grade: A-
Final Thoughts
Overall, a pretty good game. I am highly anticipating the next release. Just a little work on graphics and music, and this game would be awesome!
