Review # 22 for Chaos Nyte
Them's Fightin' Words
A wind mage named Jin wakes up after a strange dream that a man named Arranong has sent someone to kill him. Instead of seeking mental help, he heads off on a quest to find him...

Storyline: Though the basic plot of finding Arranong is clear, the game presents it in the most confusing way possible. Jin simply travels from point A to point B, picking up characters on the way. Text boxes are badly written, with spelling and grammar errors. Their a several short animated cutscenes in the game, mostly of Jin being run through a mysterious man. Though amusing, I don't think they were meant to be funny. The party is sent off on side adventure's for no reason, and to make it worse, usually just activate a tag causing the NPC to disappear, leaving you with an incomplete feeling. Your party members are no help what so ever, joining for stupid reasons and then offering stale comments. Top all this off with a demo ending at a bizarre place, and you've just created an awful story.

Graphics: It wouldn't of been so bad if the graphics had been bad and original, but when their bad AND ripped, now that goes to far. Character walkabouts are the outlines of FF characters filled in to make them faceless blobs of color. Battle graphics for the characters are so the same ones reused with slight alterations. Enemy designs are small and ugly, with no imagination used. Poor Jin spends most of his time fighting bees. All of the graphics haven't been "edged", you know, where you add an extra tile to make the whole map blend smoothly together? Did I mention that giant creatures, looking vaguely like skinny rats, roam the country side for no apparent reason?

Gameplay: Maps filled with black space and poorly filled in wall tiles, areas that don't have any purpose, and an utterly confusing layout for everything. Total crap here. Enemy's range from pitifully weak, to being able to destroy the party in under ten seconds. I actually have a headache from playing this thing.

Music: Plays music taken straight from the engin,. placed poorly, and most maps don't even have music.

This is obviously a newbie game that the creator didn't play through himself. Sorry, but I can't imagine anyone playing this demo for fun. I can't honestly think of any redeeming points to this game.
