Review # 11 for Psyco2000
Them's Fightin' Words
The cries could be heard throughout the land. Sunside trembled as the dead spoke. Their voice was like a winter wind, chilling and unforgiving. All who heard it began to cower in fear, though none could understand what they were trying to say. They only knew that the tone in their voice was that of sorrow, of anguish, of torture. Yet, all knew what was said when the hundreds upon hundreds of wandering spirits, driven by their unrelenting desperation, called out as one:

"Dear God! Stop this freaking game!"

Don't let that fool you, this game has it's strong points. The backdrops are incredible. And the music is pretty good...

...but it rarely fits in with what's actually happening on screen. A Star Wars song does NOT fit in with the occult. This game has the stench of being a remake of a book, which it basically revels. I actually had to take some aspirin for the headache I got from reading chapter after chapter of text boxes, all strung together in three or four "plotlines." Speaking of plotlines, these buggers happen at the most inopportune (and at times, senseless) moments. Heck, when you finish a battle, and all of a sudden a giant bird(in a painful example of telling rather than showing), snatches your brother and plants him somewhere, you can tell this thing was rushed. Did I mention that this story moves so darn fast that it makes you dizzy just trying to piece it together? Oh, and graphics...suck too. Sure the backdrops are some of the best I've seen, *cough* ripped *cough*, but the rest are all awful. How can your sister have blonde hair on a walkabout, but have red hair(with black outlines) in battle. Oh, and her blood is blue. Thats right, her blood is blue. Speaking of which, for some odd reason all the women have a blue outline around their...uh... I did, however, did have a good laugh when I saved(which can be done anywhere), and found my heroes happily jumping along. Oh, and the villan's name is Shatin, he fell from a wonderous place after coveting his master's throne, and forces his will upon whomever he chooses. (Gee, I haven't a CLUE who that guy's bassed on...)
Final Scores
Graphics: 2/10.0
The only thing keeping this thing from the garbage disposal is the fantastic backdrops. Everything else... *snicker*
Storyline: 1/10.0
Basically the equivalent of some guy tying a blindfold around your eyes, spinning you around ten times, and telling you to hit a pinata you didn't know was there. Heck, I still don't know if I finished it or not.
Gameplay: 1/10.0
I dozed off while playing this thing. Does that tell you anything?
Music: 1/10.0
One song for every map. Ones song for every battle. Oh yeah. Real nice.
Overall Grade: F-
Final Thoughts
This is probably one of the worst things you can inflict upon yourself. Jeez, first Bugamon's Quest and now this? God, I hope something good comes out soon.
