Review # 4 for Komera A classic Rinku moment, if I do say so myself.
Them's Fightin' Words
I asked JSH if I could review each episode as they came out, he said yes... so here we go...

OHR House is not actually a game, more like a tv show from a bird's eye view. The concept isn't new. I too have had the same idea, and have attempted it no less than five times only to loose the file to thunderstorm enduced powerouts. The first time I actually saw a file (that wasn't my own) attempt something like this was "Kennedy Assassination", which was passed to me by Rinku when I was telling him my idea.
Graphics
Passable. This isn't a serious file, so it doesn't need a serious amount of work on graphics. Closeups of all the characters are poorly sliced and diced images of celebrities and drawings. Walkabouts are original, and recognizable for what they're supposed to be. Maptiles are ho-hum, which is appropriate when given CN's first line in the game.
Storyline
This is where the file shines. I won't go into detail because then that would eliminate the need to download the file in the first place. And if you don't download the file, you're missing out on a hillarious piece of work. I will however touch upon some of the gems.

The first day passes by, giving you a small taste of everyone's personality... except Shadowiii who missed the bus... Gizmog's the sailormouth, and Lucier - the nimphomaniac - is already hitting upon the other guests. Rinku's the perfect gentleman, and right off the bat he announces he has no intention of loosing (yeah, that's Rinku, alright). When JSH is targeted by others as the gay guy - it makes you think "yeah yeah..." until you realize since the file's also by JSH, he's poking fun at himself! Gotta love a man willing to do that!

Leroy shows his brains and observation skills (or lack thereof) early on... most hilariously when he's pestering Rinku while Rinku's reading. (Look carefully, you can see Rinku's holding a book. I'd take a guess on who authored the book except on the back wall there's "RAND! RAND! RAND! RAND! RAND! RAND!")

The immunity challenge was right up my alley. The results were as varied as the characters personalitys. Eggie and JSH rebel in their own way, while Giz and CN draw self portraits. Sew (lover of anime) takes the chibi route while Rinku's perfectionism leads to a realistic painting. Join with me in Rinku's surprise and confusion when Sew's pic wins out over his!

The fun continues even into the voting stage and the results. The real Shadowiii doesn't strike me quite as... wimpy and non combative as the OHR House Shadowiii is turning out (or at least not in his LJ anyway)... but this isn't a serious piece of work, and the real Shadowiii doesn't complain (much).

Gameplay
Except for pressing "1" to get at week one... most of what you'll be doing is hitting the space bar. But since this isn't a game, it doesn't need gameplay now, does it?
  Battle
There are no battles... well... there are between characters... but nothing that actually requires the OHR's battle functions.
  Map Design
Um... there are rooms that are rectangular... You aren't allowed to navigate on your own, so what does it matter?
  Balance
    Balance? You'll loose balance, laughing.
Music
    Couldn't hear it.
Enjoyment
Yes, yes, I absolutely enjoyed it. Especially at parts where Rinku was around because I know the real Rinku rather well. He gets the most cunning dialogue, and the biggest, most obscure words. Thankfully, for the non-geniuses, JSH got Rinku's personality dead on (namely that Rinku keeps to himself, and when he does speak he prefers to be understood rather than simply sound smart by using long strings of words that only people who qualify for Mensa could possibly know the meaning of)... leaving room for the idiocy to rampage.
Final Blows
Normally, I don't watch reality programs. This is one I'm quite willing to sit down and watch. The absurd level is so high that internally I wish I had been picked too so I could join in the fun. Oh well... maybe next season (presuming there will be one).
This is disturbing on so many different levels...

They work well for this file. They were pieced together with the same seriousness the file is loaded with... ... ... or not.

Push spacebar. Loads of dexterity challenge there. Yeah, uh-huh.
