Review # 3 for Iblis This cave had some of the better graphics in the game. Sadly.
Them's Fightin' Words
Well, it wasn't horrible. That's about the nicest thing I could say about it. I have played many, many OHR games worse than this. Hell, I've even played some commercial games that were worse. However, that doesn't mean this game was worth playing. Not yet, at least.
Graphics
    Err... no...

Now, I strongly believe that simple graphics are not necessarily bad ones. However, even simple graphics need to be well drawn. These ones were not, for the most part. I kind of liked the trees in the forest even though they were really griddy. The graphics kinda tried to be cartoony, which I like, but failed at it. They need a lot of work to be at all acceptable.

The map graphics were for the most part, quite bad. They were, however, better than the battle graphics. My biggest annoyance here was that no matter what weapon a character had equipped, their attack sprites just showed them punching/slapping the enemy. Sorry, but this didn't work in 7th Saga, and it isn't gonna work here either. Also the punches looked pretty weak. So yeah, major need of improvement here.

Oh, and flipping your walkabout sprites horizontally to make them animate is never okay. Don't do it. Ever.

Storyline
This was actually okay. Kind of. It's really cliched in general terms, but is kinda weird in specific terms. So, you're some soldier sent to investigate some rebel group or something. They capture you and eventually you decide that they're good people. The weird part is that they're circus performers. Then it turns out they have some kinds of powers or something. the demo* ends at this point so you don't really know much about it. The story could actually be interesting if it were presented well. However, the characters were uninteresting and had no personality. The dialogue is mostly bland and boring. The only good thing in the dialogue was how you kept getting shocked by your captors. That was kinda funny.

*I think it's a demo. It would make no sense if this were a finished game, even though it says "final version" in the game info.

Gameplay
This isn't any good. I had very little fun playing it. I think I had some, but that was probably just due to the fact that I was preparing to review it. It couldn't have been due to the game itself.
  Battle
The battles were quite dull. You could probably just hold down the spacebar, but using the abilities probably makes the battles a little faster. Now, there were two good things about them. First, they were quick enough that they didn't bore me too much. Better to have fast boring battles than long boring ones. Second, the abilities I found were actually useful. Some people don't get the idea that if I need to spend MP for an attack that it should be better than my normal attack. Luckily this game didn't have this problem. The battles still add nothing to the game though. Wait, let me rephrase that. The battles don't add anything positive to the game. They still add time and boredom and stuff though.
  Map Design
Towns are small and boring, and dungeons are completely linear. Nothing to see here.
  Balance
Way too freaking easy. Easier than FF7. Seriously. You will never need to use healing items.
Music
Urg. Some of it was just the default OHR stuff, and some of it was original (at least I'm pretty sure it was). The original music was terrible, and the default OHR stuff was, well, not any good. Same as always. There was no real attempt at music placement.

Ride of the Valkyries is NOT a good battle theme. I freaking HATE it when people use it for battles.

Enjoyment
A little, I guess. Some parts were kind of amusing. I do think it's important to note that despite all my negative comments I think it did have some sort of potential. This isn't Magnus, or worse, The Legend of Dragoon.
Final Blows
This game is kind of on the fence between "Terrible n00b-game" and "Maybe not a n00b-game." I'm afraid it's still closer to the former side at the moment. It might be worth working on more though.
A battle. It looks pretty bad.

A battle. It looks pretty bad.
Final Scores
Graphics: 1.5/10.0
These are just bad. But, it gets a 1.5 because I can't justify giving it the same score as music and gameplay.
Storyline: 2/10.0
This could be made to be interesting, with some effort.
Gameplay: 1/10.0
Awful.
Music: 1/10.0
The OHR should not come with any bams. I mean it.
Enjoyment: 2/10.0
Like I said before, it isn't worth playing quite yet.
Overall Grade: D-
Final Thoughts
The title doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
