Review # 52 for Shadowiii Tjord.
Them's Fightin' Words
Super Concentration Headache Master Pro was Moogle1's entry to the 2005 Terrible Game Contest. Though I wouldn't say it is terrible in accordance to the rules, the thing certainly has a way of making you wish you had a bottle of aspirin or Aleve (all day long, all day strong!) nearby. It also makes me wonderwhat kinda drugs Moogle1 has been taking recently, and where I can get my hands on them..

In concept: a trivia game, with questions you'd expect to see on IRC trivia-bots. In reality: a colorful, seizure inducing, drugged up display of flashing lights, distracting colors, and questions that make you wish you played more Squaresoft games. In review: totally awesome.
Graphics
The game consists mostly of imported pictures (some stupid, some weird, most of skanky super-models you'd expect to see in Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Issue), which would be fine enough except Moogle has a script going on that, as the game progresses, the pallet for the pictures (and the text) goes more and more wacko, until you are about ready to lie down and talk to the dwarf man coming out of the portal above your bed.

Pictures are imported decently, some better then others, but it really doesn't matter because you won't very often see them in their original form anyway. The fact that they shift from "normal" to "omgwtfbbq" is pretty much the point, and it does it very well.

Storyline
Oh, are games supposed to have those?
A battle between sanity and insanity, life and death, truth and falsehood. All going on in your mind!

Gameplay
As stated, the gameplay is quite simple. And addicting. You get a question, and four choices to answer. You speed through it, trying to get as many right (and get through as many questions as possible) before your four minutes run out. All the while the most freakishly freak pallet-altering, mind bending, color display is flashing in your face. Try to think now! Ha ha!

  Battle
The battle for sanity, and to quit. I have no idea why this game is so addicing, it just is!

  Map Design
There are no maps to speak of. I think. Probably has the default 00 map, but I'm pretty sure there is nothing on it. At least I THINK there is nothing on it. Ah well.

  Balance
A few issues, some of the questions have wrong answers, and the randomizer is a bit screwy (I got one question five times in a row. Wee, free points!). I'd like to see an expansion, or maybe more versions (now that Moogle is handing out the source, my dream may come true!). The questions are fun and make you feel somewhat smart, though. Except I swear half of the math ones are totally off. :P

Music
Music is interesting, disorienting, but doesn't seem all that appropriate. It was well put and placed, and certainly added to the "headache" affect (the first few times I played I didn't have VDMS, and the music sure didn't help my score). Overall, the tunes are ok and random, though I think some better songs could have been chosen to increase the "headache" part. However, they worked decently, so I guess they are acceptable.

Enjoyment
Great. I liked it a lot, actually. I'm a fan of trivia bots on IRC and Battle.net, so this game was enjoyable. Though I am RAGING MAD because Iblis keeps beating my high scores and making me feel stupid. :( Oh well. Besides that part, the game is great fun, though you have been warned it gives you a headache.

Final Blows
Er, sorry. In summation, you really shouldn't play this on a 27" monitor which is only about a foot away from your face for about an hour straight. Belive me, I had a monster of a headache (not to mention the weirdest dreams ever) after playing it. Other then that, the game is one of the best "terrible" games I've played, and I'd recommend it if you want to prove to yourself you aren't smart (unless you are Iblis. Curse you Iblis! I'll get you next time, Gadget. Next time! *meroowww!!*)

Also, I stole all the images from Fenrir's review because my DOS is being fritzy right now. But I put them on in a reverse order, so I'm sure you won't notice. Lol pwn'd.
Oh look at all your pretty hats!

Final Scores
Graphics: 7.5/10.0
Graphics do their job, they hurt my head. Though there were way-a-freaking lot of skanks in it (not that I'm complaining).
Storyline: 1/10.0
Eh?
Gameplay: 9.5/10.0
Funnest Terrible Game Contest to date.
Music: 7/10.0
Could use some fine-tuning, but still does its job I suppose.
Enjoyment: 10/10.0
The best stoner game since Katamari Damacy. Needs more shrooms.
Overall Grade: A
Final Thoughts
    Aspirin, please.
