People who have played my games should recognize 5 of those characters. Yes, they are gonna be in the game too. Yes, I know Rave and Mimi look out of place, but they look fine in the game. C&C welcome.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that Lucifus was renamed to Lucif |

Maybe a bit, but not too much.
Anyway, Tuli envokes feelings of Selphie from Final Fantasy VIII. Coincidence or inspiration?
Leo looks pretty different, in a good way.
Pretty good, I'd like to see some color, though I don't have much room to ask (all my pictures are just pencil, too)... |

Humm... a little short, eh? I'll need to try to fix that.
Tuli looks like Selphie? Lol.. I don't really know where you got that idea from. Maybe the little points on the end of her pony tails? Maybe the clothes? I dunno =P |

Err not to be a buzzkill but it seems that the new characters seems to be direct ripoffs of existing RPG characters, if not just hackneyed cliche characters. Unless that was the very point of it, its not very original. Like Mimi is basically Vivi, the Selphie thing is pointed out...Leo, is pretty obvious, and the others are just various classes you can find anywhere. Sorry if I wasnt being helpful, just saying whats probably what people were thinking. Any case the sketches are actually very good, xcept for Rave who doesnt look too much like a kid.. _________________ If you hit a plane with the soccer, could you afford to fix it? - Shaolin Soccer

Actually, if you haven't noticed, those characters were in my previous games. Mimi is in my game "Me", which I think was made before Final Fantasy 9 (correct me if I'm wrong). There character is another thing. Vivi is a very naive, and Mimi is more of a brainy child.
Tuli is definately not similar to Selphie. I didn't really notice the clothes, and they are somewhat similar, but there characters are also very apart. Selphie is happy-go-lucky, cheerful, and gets along with people. Tuli is a spoiled brat who gets into tantrums and that sort of thing.
Leo... well... can't really say much about him. I'll admit that he is quite cliche, but hopefully the overall story of Requiem will change your view on him.
If you are refering to design, then some of these characters may seem a bit cliched. But you don't really know how they're personalities are and how each character will be presented in the game. When the game is released, I hope they won't seem as cliched as they appear.
..
Oh, and about Rave... I can't draw kids. Mimi and Tuli were just flukes. I'll go hang myself now |

They all look nice. I could glance at Tuli and Mimi and immediately guess at their personality (though I guess that's a bit misleading). However, the others look like normal townspeople. They lack a unique appearance and style. |

Grandtrain: Phew... I guess I gotta spice up my character design in the future...

Mimi, from Me. Right, I had forgotten about her. Doesn't remind me of Vivi at all, however, I'm fairly certain that FF9 came out before Me.
I will admit that Lucif looks somewhat clichéd, but the others don't strike me so, and wouldn't seem like normal townspeople, either.
Do you want to see some normal people in an RPG? Wait 'till I get Where Gods and Mortals Dance out, about the only people who don't look quasi-normal are the Lamar brothers, as Thomas is always wearing that parson's uniform and Jacob's wardrobe comes from the Victorian era. Then again, none of the others are really completely normal, as they each have there own tendencies (like Caleb's insistence on always wearing his trademark polyester jackets)... Uh, enough thread-usurping, back on topic!
They look good, Fenix, really. |

When was FF9 released? Wasn't it in 2000 sometime?
Regardless, Mimi never reminded me of Vivi one bit. Completely different. I actually never noticed the similarity until now. _________________ But enough talk, have at you! |

The link doesn't seem to work for me... perhaps the site is not Opera friendly? (IE has gone completely haywire on my computer :X)

Nice pics, there.
And about the arms being "too short," the actual "problem" is that the legs are too long. If you look at a real person, you will see that the tips of the fingers extend to just below the crotch. On most of your sketches, that's where they are. However, by "normal" human proportions, the legs are too long. That seems to be a stylistic thing, though, so don't try to change it. The legs look good that way. The only character I have a problem with is Rudo. His arms are definitely far too small. His hands only reach his waist, and the arms are way too skinny in relation to the rest of the body.
Other than that, excellent work. _________________ UP DOWN UP DOWN LEFT LEFT RIGHT RIGHT A B START |
