It looks pretty interesting! I've already seen that gif in the journals.

You want advice in what people want to see in a game, when it's nearly complete? Maybe you meant to ask for playtesting. If you are going to release this within the next 7 days, to qualify for the Gameathon, then maybe you should send to to me for some quick playtesting, since I'll have to play it anyway (*grumble*). I'll make sure to report back so many problems that you'll never get it released within the next week. Yes, you (don't) want me as a playtester. First feedback: change the tree branches.

tree branches... they are such a disappointment. I simply couldn't get them to make since while still providing a level surface to stand on. But I suppose I should work on them a little more.

As for playtesting, I think I might have enough playtesters already.... but I guess 1 more couldn't hurt. ( Assuming of course you do really want to playtest it ?) And don't worry about finding too many bugs to be able to release on time. I've been able to play through the game successfully, so I'd release it with the bugs if I had to. (hopefully there aren't that many.)

I'll send you the file.

p.s. the version you'll be testing will still have the messed up tree branches

When you do, I would probably recommend something along the lines of:

The trees still look pretty bizarre, but the thinner branches make them more tree-like, in my opinion.
It would make the map look less tiled; however, it would certainly increase your tile-count (I think it'd be worth it).

Second, I was wondering how many sites do you think I should release the game on in order to get the most people possible to play it

Whoa whoa, you're definitely thinking way too far ahead.
You would definitely want to properly tweak it out before spreading it everywhere.

But this is certainly looking to become an interesting game.
Good luck with the rest of it.

though your tree is ,without a doubt, much nice looking then mine. There's 1 problem, thinner branches basically lie to the player and would cause invisible wall issues. since the wall is in fact the whole tile the player might not like it when the hit the wall well below the tree limb.

anyways here's what I came up with. I'm not saying yours was bad, but i do hope you see what i'm talking about when you play the game.

Oh, I was only imagining an upper-border wall on these branches.
But I guess that bumping your head on the very top of a branch would be a little stranger than bumping your head on its bottom..

This looks cool. I can't wait to try it.

As for your branches, I do think the fat branches have a curious charm to them. They look weird, but they don't look bad.

But if you really want to change them, why not try thin branches with bristly needles like a pine tree?

o, they're suppose to be mostly dead trees. I almost took out the single leaf that some of them have. It has to do with the story.

Having grown up in "pine bark beetle" territory, I know well the heartbreak of dry, dead pine

Anyway, but seriously, the fat branches do look cool. You don't need to change them.

Those branches look waaaaay too big for those trees, which I can't unsee.

But you can't change the branch size due to limitations...

So the best solution would be to, of course, make the trees themselves bigger.

that is a great idea and I honestly wish I had done that, buuuuut seeing as how that would basically undo all the work I did on every level with trees I don't see myself doing that.

Honestly, I'm fairly proud of the job I did on the trees. You all have valid points, but if I focus too much on the trees they won't blend in well with the rest of the landscape. They're already one of the most detailed things in the game.

You could also make the branches one-way platforms and make them thin... but then you have to design your levels around that, which may be a problem.

I am willing to simply accept that in the magical world of Tim-Tim, tree branches are just fat. That is the way they grow there.

Not all trees have to grow the same way.
