Uh oh, I tried running HSPEAK in Vista and it totally rejected me. I even tried running it in Windows XP and Windows 98 compatability, and it still won't work. Does anyone out there have vista and can tell me how to compile my damn scripts? _________________ But enough talk, have at you! |

Really? What's the problem/error exactly? Try running it from a commandline. (I don't have Vista) _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |

Is this the hspeak.exe from hasta-la-qb or a nightly hspeak?
And how exactly did it "reject" you? |

I downloaed HSpeak.exe from the tools. I have the nightly version for everything else. Hope that helps.
Edit: I Re-Download the nightly compiler and rebooted, and it seems to be working now. Huh. Well, whatever. _________________ But enough talk, have at you! |

Oh, I see. It was probably happening because the solar x-ray flux level was too high yesterday. |

That copy of hspeak was 12.3kb, so it must have been a DOS version? I guess Vista doesn't support DOS programs anymore, I never knew. _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |

Only vaguely related, here is a website I found involving DOS programs and how they work (or not) with Vista.
http://www.columbia.edu/~em36/wpdos/vista.html
This is really about the DOS version of WordPerfect (a word processor) but it explains a few things about why Vista would reject DOS programs. There are directions for getting DOS stuff to work about 1/3 of the way down. Not sure if this helps anyone else, but it helped me with a problem I was having with something else. _________________ My first completed OHR game, Tales of the New World:
