Citizens of Castle Paradox, it is my job to call attention to things that seem amiss inside the perimeters of CP’s boundaries, and it seems that during my recent patrol I found something of suspicious nature. As of now I am in the process of investigating its meaning.

It could be nothing more than a red herring, since many false issues are recorded via the surveillance points around the area, but we still need to treat this recording as sensitive material as it could lead to something greater. If anyone has information about the conversation on the recording, please contact Castle Paradox Security as soon as possible. You may remain anonymous.

In the meantime, I will attempt to filter out the noise and transcribe the actual conversation once I figure out what it says.

The recording can be heard or right-clicked and saved target as here: http://securitycenter.castleparadox.com/mysterious%20recording.wav

We would like to avoid any unforeseeable issues involving mysterious recordings in the future, so the security staff would appreciate your cooperation in this matter. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Buford, the Castle Paradox Security Officer

What I was able to salvage ala GoldWave:
    "I don't think they'll like this..."
"I understand what you're talking about..."
    "They're not ready..."
"I realize you don't have to say anything..."
    "Yeah...fire...beam stuff...
    "... ... maybe bigger..."
    "I just don't think that they're ready"
    "...can't take any chances..."
    "I gotta go now..."

Hmm...Quite the interesting monologue you've acquired, Buford...

I am quite sure that I will be able to solve this case much sooner than you can...Provided that you gimme some more clues? :D

Do you know that this is really starting to resemble an ARG now?

I don't know if you mean ARG as in ARRGGH or if it means something else, but this just reminded me of when I made that one thread back in the day where you were supposed to use your OHR characters and sort of have them interact with everyone else's. Ha ha.

Conspiracy theory time!

So, it's totally obvious that a bomb will go off, more than likely in the Art Forum. In the amass of panic, people will flee towards the General Board only to find themselves washed into a sea of peddlers attempting to sell them Viagra.
Those lucky enough to escape will find safe haven in the Plotscripting board, but due to the active nature and elitism of that board, will be asked 3 questions of wit and OHRRPGCE-edness.
They will fail and have to later find refuge in the Story board. Here, they will develop a new religion, prophecizing that one day they shall reach The Soapbox (Or the garden of the Byuxadmsos, as they call it.)
Language will flourish, and the Story Board will unexpectedly become full with clear, coherent thoughts. However, there will be a sharp disagreement between leaders, and the followers of Gurim will stay and the followers of Viser will go to the Game Design Forum (as their religion doesn't believe in music, they skip BAMTastic. The forum regulars there will be saddened by the lack of company, and will sing sad chansons accompanying themselves with a lute.)

Soon, the tension becomes too great. War breaks out. Many lives will be lost foolishly. Two brave warriors from the Gurim and Viser tribes will make the dangerous trek to the garden of Byuxadmsos, forgiving each other's religion. When reaching the Plotscripting board, they will have actually read the HOW-TO, and be allowed to pass. When reaching the Art Forum, they will meet many wounded from the blast, yet be unable to help them. Upon arrival of the General Board, they will disguise themselves by tattoing their bodies (profiles) with "PENIS.COM" and use the primitive language of the evil peddlers, getting past them.
After a great climb, they reach a vast void of pointless words strewn about. Fake promises and pretentious arguments will lie before them as they will scratch their heads. They question why this is all that they see. Were the prophecies untrue? And then, at that very moment, the shining beacon of Buford's face will engulf them, and they will finally be in the garden of Byuxadmsos.

Either that, or IM is planning to do something with the site. What, however, could be a lot of things:

He's planning to add some sort of cool feature to the forum.
He's planning to open Paradox Lounge so that even more useless words can be thrown around.
He's planning on releasing a secret hybrid monkey into the streets of Gotham... wait...
He's planning on closing the site... for real this time.
He's planning to implement the CL points that everybody has been inquiring about.

It could be anything. I do propose that IM is in fact the CP Security Officer. The tell-tale sign is that he hasn't been on as himself. (Wouldn't it be more clever to pretend that you don't know who this crazy man is? (But then that would entail you have to pretend that you can get rid of him, which seeing that you "couldn't" would give away the joke. A nasty Catch-22.))

Why is that? We've already established that Buford's adminned, so before IM could pretend we could get rid of him he'd have to pretend he'd want to. Being that Buford has admin powers, if this wasn't commissioned by IM, he's obviously in on it, though Buford wouldn't necessarily have to be IM himself.

Though, yes, I agree this is a precursor to something.

And when I say ARG I mean Alternate Reality Game.

Considering the distaste for Buford that the community has displayed, IM's lack of appearance suggests to me that he is either IM, or they have a very, very tight bond/joke planned, though I would be more inclined to believe the former. While IM may not come around to post too often, I think he would definitely take a disturbance like this as something (even if it's just locking the threads.)

I don't know. I could be wrong.

Could also be the distaste was not only predicted, but deliberately provoked.

Even then, it's not like this community is anywhere near as active as it once was, and as such, there's no need for further security moderation considering that nothing much really happens here anymore.

Setu, the fact is that Buford is pretty likely a ruse.

Attention, CP Citizens, I apologize for interrupting everyone’s conspiracy theories, but I have urgent news. It seems that someone pulled the audio file out from under my nose. Tragically. Probably when I stepped out for a breather. However, this confirms that something is amiss, as it seems clear that someone didn’t want this recording found. Unfortunately, the recording is no longer in Castle Paradox’s possession, and is therefore near impossible to track the culprit by his or her fingerprints, as he or she clearly didn’t have any. Fortunately, not all is lost. After much labor and few donut breaks, I managed to salvage the voice from the background noise. This is what it said:

Mysterious Man: “...look, I don’t know if I like this. I understand where you’re coming from, but it shouldn’t be done. They’re not ready. I realize your viewpoint, and I’m not saying you’re wrong. Well, actually I am. What you’re talking about could spark...you know...weird stuff. And...I think this could be the biggest thing since the OHR went to Windows, maybe bigger...and, I just don’t think they’re ready...this kind of thing is just...

“Wait, there’s something blinking in the bushes. I gotta go.”

[end recording]

It seems that the words here confirm many of your theories that all this is leading to something, but we have to question what.

But don’t worry, I am on the case.

Sincerely,

Buford, the Castle Paradox Security Officer
