I've changed the title of my game from Hero Quest: Hero of the Seal into Hero of the Seal. I think that's much better for now. And I fixed some errors from the demo game. You can now try it but still cannot access the second level of a dungeon because I didn't include an item necessary for the hero to pass. The reason why I made that demo too short? You guys must test it, analyze it and inform me what are the necessary things to do in order to improve it if you wish to volunteer. I accept both positive and negative remarks and I don't take them too personally, really. Thanky-thanks. _________________ St. SeiyaRyu

Hero of the Seal is still sort of a... boring title. I think you should go to a website with a thesaurus or get one yourself and find synonyms for hero and find something more interesting to grab attention. For example, Exemplar of the Seal sounds a bit more interesting. Just a suggestion. _________________ http://www.castleparadox.com/gamelist-display.php?game=750 Bloodlust Demo 1.00

Exemplar of the Seal sounds terrible. Hero of the Seal is pretty generic, yeah, but you won't improve it by sticking in weird synonyms. _________________ Locked

How about Seal of Milankar? Judging by that phrase, it seems that my game should focus more on the Seal rather than the hero. Or maybe it's okay because the main objective of the game is to find the Seal and destroy the villain. Whaddya think?
Another suggestion. Should I try simply Milankar? Emissary of the Seal? Envoy of Milankar? Argh! _________________ St. SeiyaRyu

This is a much better title. Hero of Milankar would work too. This way the title has something in it that's unique to your game. _________________ Locked

Really, Sir Iblis? Okay, one point goes to [Seal of Milankar]. Why don't we vote them out? It might be helpful. But, how can I add a voting procedure here? Should I use the poll? _________________ St. SeiyaRyu

I thought this was your game rather than the community's. Of course, I have little doubt this is a gimmick. _________________ "Everyone has 200,000 bad drawings in them, the sooner you get them out the better."

Yeah, while it's good to listen to critiques, it's still your game. You should choose the title you think is best. Also, it's not necessary to call anyone sir. _________________ Locked

How about calling it Milankar. It works perfect, it's simple, it's 8 letters for the short ohr name. A lot of good games use simple nI'd prefer that over Far Cry: Revenge of the Sith returning from the Underground 100 year Seal. |

I'd certainly vote in favour of using proper names (ie. Milankar) over generic titles. I agree with Iblis that it gives you something unique, something that can, for instance, be typed into Google without a million hits. And HeroQuest is an old game. |

I'm more in favor of informative titles (Kill Bill and Ferris Bueller's Day Off for example) myself. _________________ "Everyone has 200,000 bad drawings in them, the sooner you get them out the better."

To tell you the truth, guys, I've been thinking of very short but generic names for my 1st OHR game. Whew! It took me 2 hours thinking while working on my pc, and now my head aches. Milankar, Seal of Milankar and Eternal Seal keep on whirling inside my mind. _________________ St. SeiyaRyu

"Sigil" and "Signet" are much better and more specific words than "seal." _________________ My art (and random photos)! |

Ah but it's not Kill That Guy or Some Student's Day Off, is it? |

I prefer titles with hidden or double meanings. Especially titles that require a little inside knowledge from the movie/book/game to fully comprehend. Ferris Bueller was a stinky movie and a stinky title to my own eyes and ears (but I'm not everyone else so ye shall not yell at me for mine own opinion). For example, even though I haven't seen it, I like the title The Mexican because the title refers to the featured gun, and not to any person who hails from Mexico.
Another example: Great Expectations. If Dickens had followed the trend he'd set in most of his other books, it would have been called Phillip Pirrip. While normally using the lead character's name as the title is okay... I think in this case Dickens realized how stupid that sounds in this case. So what does he do? He gives it a superb title that you haven't really much clue what he really means by it until you've read the book.
... Hmmm, though that does bring up the interesting question about why my own game has the cruddy title "Wingedmene". Well, let's just say my inspiration was Oliver Twist and David Copperfield. _________________ LJ.Art
