Alright, here is Lari, she is a girl. Sort of tomboyish.

Here is Larion, a guy.

So tell me what you think?

I didn't want to color them cause I was afraid it would only mess them up.

Both of them look like.... chicks.

Their noses point up too much. It looks like you could hang clothes from them. The reason the guy looks like a chick is because his chin is too rounded and the top of his eye is too feminine - it looks like he's wearing eyeliner or mascara. Also, the guy's head seems to be out too far from his neck. I don't think coloring them would mess them up, as long as you color it correctly.

Something about your complete disdain for the way a person's nose and chin looks disturbs me. Their hair doesn't seem to be growing from any actual point, like they're wearing toupees. In the case of the girl, it looks like there's a tightly rolled hair root on her forehead, that's growing back over the rest of her head, and that's not a good thing.

What the hell's up with the guys eye? He looks like he's a cat or something, yet he lacks the ears and tail most furries have.

You could have hair on the guy that'd look about the same, but would actually look like it's complying with the laws of physics, and it'd look a whole hell of a lot better, Y.

I really hate to dig on you like this, 'cause I don't want you to think I hate you or something, but these pieces just bother me. I'm gonna look back, and see if there's anything you've done that I enjoyed, so I can tell you the parts of your style that I think work.

Well Larion had a haircut!!! (which reminds me, I need one too, lol)
I also redesigned the face, so I think its more of a guy-like.

What do you think now?

Edit: I folowed Onlyone's advice, and also redesigned the hair once more(I guess those who haven't seen the second modification won't know how the hair was before, look in onlyone's post to see how it was)

You're still dipping the face back. A person's face isn't exactly flat, and a nose protrudes. Make it a gentle outflexing, rather than a sharp inflexing, and a twist to go way out and up, and then back around. Since you extended the jaw out, the mouth looks way off too. I think you actually made it worse.

YSoft, I hope you don't mind if I took your image and did some editing. Your image was extremely simple (small and only two colors) so I tried to masculinize your pic a little more with dark red lines to show you what I mean. Hope you don't mind.

Nice, thanks for pointing it out.

Well I guess nose is my special style Razz, I think it looks ok.
as for the hair, I guess I still haven't come up with the best way to draw them, gonna buy me a "how to draw manga/anime style" and see how they do it. maybe I could get some tips from those books.

I will post more faces when I come up with them.

How about looking at human beings and learning at least one thing about anatomy instead? The noses look terrible. Being terrible isn't a special style. Take a look at actual humans and try to learn from them rather than the shittiest generic anime books you can find. "How to draw manga" books will teach you how to draw lifeless, generic rubbish.

Thats exactly what I want, but not rubbish of course. I like generic manga, you don't. Thats what makes me and you different.

Aside from what Gizmog first pointed out about the roots of the hair, I sort of liked your original ideas for the hair do. Just thought I'd mention that.

Ysoft, the thing is, you can't draw faces in ANY style unless you can draw faces. Knowing how real faces are actually structured is essential for drawing stylized faces, especially if you want to deform them in strange ways.

The noses do not look okay. It doesn't matter whether it's your style or not, they don't even look human with noses like that.
