To prevent one of my characters from equipping a powerful weapon that can be found from an enemy early in the game, I would like to place a minimum level limit on the weapon, which would prevent the character, at a lower level, from equipping it. Can anyone explain how I can do this efficiently so that I can do this to all equipment?

Hm.. I can't think of a good method that wouldn't be extremely intrusive, but it sounds like a good idea for an engine feature. You might want to request it.

[Searches new wiki-OHR and gets confused by the Bugzilla bug/request form]

Uh...where would I request it?

I dunno. Talk to one of the developers? Use social skills?

I think you'd just have to make two copies of the hero, one who can equip it and one who can't. Once the hero reaches the right level (you could check it in an after-battle plotscript) you switch them, giving that hero's equipment and experience and skills to the new hero.

In CPVS I just rid myslef of level limits and such and just use a new version of the hero at certain story points. It makes thing smuch easier.

Iblis' idea is good for just one weapon, but if you would like to do this for all items (potentially having different level limits for each), then I would have to agree that this is virtually impossible under the current engine. It is definitely a good suggestion, though.
