It's been almost another year, so here's more music hype :V

Sea of Despair -

The beginning of this is a melody that I've had in my head for several years now, so much so that I'm worried that I might've actually heard it somewhere else and forgotten about it. This is supposed to be a world map theme of sorts. I imagine this song being used in a situation similar to the "second act" in FF6, where the hero wakes up and finds out that the world is half-destroyed.

Overture of the Forgotten Hero -

I really like how this song came out. It's the song that plays during the opening narration of a game that may or may not be made. In essence, the song is about a hero who thanklessly gives his life for his country, only to be forgotten soon afterward. I wanted it to have a sad and lonely feel to it, yet at the same time express the hope and kindness of the hero himself. It picks up towards the end, when the RPG logo is supposed to appear.
The mp3 is a record of how the midi sounds on my computer, just to make sure people hear the same thing I do.

Climax Under the Eclipse -

Since the earlier two songs are pretty emo, I thought I'd write something livelier. This is the final boss theme for a secret project. But rather than focus on "defeating a villain", I wanted the song to fit more with "rescuing a beloved person".
One thing I would've liked to have done is have the beginning of the song (the Space Odyssey 2001 lampshade) play at a slower tempo, and then speed up later. But I couldn't find any midi editing software that let me change the tempo mid-song for free.
I gave it a suggestive title with the word "climax" in it so that more people would want to download it and make replies to this thread.

The Steel Angel's Frenzy -

This is a boss theme for a project I have planned down the line. I had the first four bars of this song written for almost two months now, the first half of the song in my head for the past two weeks, and I just today got the inspiration to write the rest of the song (probably because I had just played Mystic Ark).
What I had in mind when I started was something "cute" yet "hard-core", and the results fit my expectations perfectly. I really want to fight a boss battle with this theme playing in the background.

I'm reserving the right to bump this thread every six months.

Listen to My Wish

Opening credits theme for Angel Whispers, although I don't know why I bother with it, considering that I can count the number of people working on this game with one finger. Maybe I'll give some credit to the people who are working on the OHR engine, maybe.

Save the Mind -

Another boss theme. If you heard Angel's Frenzy, this song is supposed to contrast with it, being more serious and purposeful rather than light-hearted and carefree. It's still hardcore though, as a boss theme should be. The song's title comes from Stage 4 of a touhou game, though the song itself took more inspiration from Persona 4, I think.

About now I should really learn to make something other than midis. I think I was one of the last people to still make BAMs after the OHR gained midi support, and years afterwards I'm still behind on the technology race.
