We're way past the Two year mark for Castle Paradox being online, making it one of the longer running dedicated OHR sites since the engine first came out. As is the assumption from last time, we need feedback.

We've got 6 Active Admins and one Main-board Mod:

-Heat
-Inferior Minion
-Machu
-Squall
-Shadowiii

We also have inactive/retired Administrators, whom you may also rate for historical reasons

Please give us a general idea of what you think each one does, and how you think they're doing overall.

Fenrir: I think you're probably the only one left in power who cares. I don't think you've got power to fix or solve anything, but god damnit, I'm naive enough to think you're trying.

Machu: You're trying, man. You really are. And believe it or not, you're probably the best hope for a sane admin. You kind of bothered me in the avatar thread, but I think recently you've shown that you get it, and I love you for it, man.

Shadows: You close a few too many threads. I'd rather see threads just be left to play themselves out and fall into obscurity then have you close them the minute you think they've served their purpose, but at least you DO SOMETHING and are CONSISTENT.

However, these two are diamonds amongst coal. The rest of this post is going to be much longer, and a lot less happy.

Heat: I haven't even seen him post in a long tiem that I remember, let alone moderate anything. Demote!

Cube: Same thing, doesn't do any moderation, hasn't posted that I can remember, doesn't need to remain an Admin.

Squall: I think he's posted recently, and at least does things occasionally. Leave him in.

Inferior_Minion: Does nothing except tinkers, claims not to care about the community, and that it's all worthless to him, yet stonewalls any attempts to make him only a technical figurehead, and won't allow the installation of any admins who would help the community along, and any attempts to sanely moderate the community, or any attempts to open the ParadoxLounge forum. If he doesn't care, why does he get a say? Shouldn't it be up to the admins and mods who do care? Years of apathy, ignoring me, and listening just enough to shut me up has made me sick of him. I'd say pitch him, or reduce him to the Technical Programmer tinkerer position he wants so much.

(I'll edit this post, maybe, after some stuidying into Heat, Cube, and Squalls actions and inactions over the past few months)

Fenrir-Lunaris - 10/10. Generally seems reasonable and effective.
Heat - 0/10. Inactive.
Inferior Minion - 5/10. I have to give him a certain number of points for the fact that he pays for the server and stuff. But this "April Fools" thing was seriously messed up.
Machu - 8/10. Really, I don't see why people have such a huge problem with him.
Squall - 8/10. Doesn't seem as active as some but still seems to come here and do admin things.
Shadowiii - 10/10. A good choice for an admin.

Aethereal - 6/10. Inactive? I think he was a good admin so I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt.
Chaos Nyte - 8/10. He pissed people off but he got the job done. I liked that he banned useless morons instead of just letting them fill the boards with garbage.
Misteroo - 0/10. Inactive.
Orchard-L - 0/10. Inactive.
Setu_Firestorm - 6/10. Doesn't seem around that much these days but he always seemed to keep his cool and was a good enough admin.
Uncommon - 10/10. One of the best admins CP's had.

Hmm, long, or blurb? WE'l see..

We've got 6 Active Admins and one Main-board Mod:
-Cube - 1/10 - Excellent plotscriptor, does some behind-the-scenes work on the site, but I really haven't seen him around talking to people...AT ALL. He's like Mr. Roo or Orchard, they just slipped into obscurity. They only come back when theres some matter they disagree witha nd voice their opinions (well, Mr. Roo doesn't), and it's hard to take their opinions for all it's worth as they really haven't been posting here for the past few years/months/etc.
-Fenrir-Lunaris - 9/10 - Some say he takes it too seriously, but I seriously think he's just concerned, and there's nothign wrong with caring about something a lot. IN fact, that makes him load better then some apathetic admins. He is generally open on all accounts, knows where to draw the line, and I've never seen him present an idea that was generally disliked. A good choice, very levelheaded.
-Heat - N/A - He has'nt admined forever. I've seen him on IRC a few times. He's a funny guy, but he really doesn't do anything. Then again, at least he doesn't come bakc and tell people what to do after being gone forever.
-Inferior Minion - 5/10 - The good is that he works VERY hard VERY long into the night to improve the general layout and workings of CP (I've seen some betas, they are fantastic). The bad is that because of this he has generally been completely inactive witht he community itself, in-so-much that he has no idea wha is going on at the CP he's designing stuff for. While I can see he cares a lot for game designers (especially from the new layout), his apathetic view of the overall members of the forums is generally disgusting. Not only that, I cant' tell when he's joking or when he is serious anymore.
-Machu - 7/10 - He is taking his job seriously, which is fantastic. However, it is my opinion that he is getting worked up about some things that aren't there. Granted, he has a very good excuse. IT seems that whenever something even slightly contriversial comes up, somebody with an ax to grind ALWAYS jumps in and tries to make a mountain out of a molehill. IT's like there are people just TROLLING around looking to start some contention. Machu isn't taking flack from them, and though it comes off as a "fight fire with fire" technique, at least he's doing SOMETHING.
-Squall - 2/10 - I like Squall as a person a lot, but he really hasn't done much around here recently. Which, on some points is good, because that means he's probably working on his movies some more. And them movies are awesome.
-Shadowiii - Infinity/10 N/A - I can't comment on myself I suppose. I guess I'm a bit apathetic, and maybe even my OHR-House side is showing through (I try to avoid the arguments and let someone else handle them). Then again, it really isnt' avoiding, it's just that 90% of the time the "major" issues are simply something small blown out of proportion, like three pages of posts because there was a color limit on a contest. There seriously doesn't need to be this much arguing for so simple a thing, and so I don't get involved. I DO want to reopen ParadoxLounge, and I DO want Uncy and CN back as admins. I DON'T want free reign on all the boards, however, as I think there shoudl be some form of civilization around here.

-Chaos Nyte - 9.5/10 - One of the best admins we ever had, and not only that he cares as much as Fenrir (or more) about this community. Through instant messaging (or just what he's been saying when he thought he was getting CP), it comes off that he cares pretty much more then anybody else, and is very active in persuing his ideas and ideals with regards to this site. The fact that he was de-admined was a HUGE mistake, and it is evident as we can see the chaos that is ensuing.
-Misteroo - 0/10 - Why is he still an admin?
-Orchard-L - 2/10 - He's gone too. WAs good in that he made rules and enforced them. WAs bad because he was like my Dutch piano teacher a while back, and only really accepted one form of art.
-Setu_Firestorm - 6/10 - I liked Setu. He was an excellent balance for CN, in that he wasn't completely serious all the time, wasn't perfect, and admitted his mistakes. He also did his job quite well, and was active in the community.
-Uncommon - 11/10 - Frankly, he was the best admin we ever had. Hell, I'd "break all da rulez" and re-admin him and CN if they really wanted it. Didn't take crap, but knew where to draw the line on strictness. Wasn't overzelous or loudspoken, but did his job and did it well. Didn't take any crap from anybody, but was presentable and still likeable.


Personally, I'd like to see an admin "clean sweep." That is, kill them all except one or two (if I pickd, it woudl be IM (he owns it) and CN (he cares about it's members)). Then I'd let them decide moderatores over the individual boards. This would definatly work out better then multiple admins, as in this way a moderator could focus on his board, and his board ONLY, without worrying about what the crap is going on elsewhere. What the hell, if I had my pick for moderatores (under the current boards, which I also think should be altered), it probably would involve Fenrir, Uncy, Machu, Setu, Gizmog/PHC, maybe myself, and Moogle1. Then we whouldn't have lots of people in power, just two with the power to ban or whatnot. The mods could talk to the admins in deciding rules and what have you, and since they were focuing on their forums alone, they could make specific rules for the specific aspects of the site (ie Art would have some different rules then General Discussion, which would have some different rules then Announcements, etc.). They would all be under some very general rules for the entire site (involving maybe flaming, spamming, etc.), but specifics (what, in terms of pornography is or isn't allowed, reviving dead topics, what is specific to the forum, etc.) coudl be decided by the mods.

In retrospect, I'm basically re-stating what Fortis has been saying all along, but dammit, he's right.

That's the rule we call "common sense," which is not possessed by Fyre. Basically, he thinks everyone's a flaming pile of crap except the people who never post here.

I have no particular problem with the current admins. Fenrir seems to have a Great Justice complex, but that's not a problem. Shadow does his job effectively.

Unc and CN were the best admins CP has ever had and it's a shame that CN isn't taking over. I can think of quite a few people who read CN's LJ and said they were coming back when he took over.

Well, I had a bunch of admin ratings, and a really hilarious pun concerning Fyrewulff, but the stupid board logged me out and I lost the entire thing. Way to go, Castle Impatient.
