Title: Peril of Cairnavon
All of the names I just took a name or word that was relevant and spelled it backwords.
It is a game that borrows heavily from problems on our earth but blows them out of proportion. For example Cairnavon's atmosphere is non-existant as global warming has annaihilated it. Also all of the nuclear waste from a former age has built up in the sun, where they dumped it all, and caused the reactions within it to accelerate dramatically, reducing it's life span. I will make it a trilogy as there is so much I have thought of to do with the plot.
Progress:
Walkabouts: 50% done.
Bear in mind that I have just started.

hehehe

Is theres no atmosphere, how do people survive (PS: global warming actually makes the atmosphere thicker, not reduces it)
Wait a minute... dumping nuclear waste into the sun was the clean solution, at enormous effort...

Any other information?

sorry forgot to mention. The atmosphere has been replaced by a huge protective bubble that is solar powered. That is why the Sun expanding is an especially big problem, as if it dies solar power and henceforth the fake atmosphere will be no more.

hmmm.... interesting story line.
but what the main goals of the game? preventing sun from exploding? or just trying to find another solar system to move?
if preventing the sun from exploding, it sound totally impossible, unless there would be some kind of magic spell that would restore the sun.

but ye, I would be interested in playing it. it sounds like a good game.

It's a trilogy, find out through playing as I don't want to spoil any of their plots especially the second one.

Ok thanks PHC. I now have real incentive to finish this project to prove that I can. I currently have 13/19 npcs, including playable characters so roughly 60%. I am making them each individually anyway, so this will start off as one game and be joined by its brothers when they are made. So it is just making one game while leaving the plot open. Oh and thanks for the support Ysoft! Happy

Hopefully the rushed work is going to produce the goods.

Sounds interesting. Pretty far-fetched. Like those old Lucas Arts adventure games.

A Trilogy? Three games? Thats pushing it hey. Why not just make one? Is it not one of your first beginning games? What happens if you make this huge game and then realise that your gameplay has issues and your graphics skills need a huge improvement and people don't want to play your game... Then what? What a waste of time, Start again? (Just an example, not a stab at you)

Hopefully you can pull it off without any issues. But I would recommend making smaller games first. (and single games - not trilogy)

75% of my walkabouts. 14/19
Just got the anthro M/F sprites for adult and child, and the Geographer sprite to go. NB for Geographer: they are a small elitist group of designer humans who as part as an experiment their foetuses were infused with bat DNA plus they are immortal due to other DNA samples. The experiment was completed and the Geographers that were created formed a team of designer humans, whos main purpose in life is to find out as much as possible about the world of Cairnavon, so they can figure out a way to fix the environmental problems. After a few centuries their bodies stopped rejecting the bat DNA and they sprouted wings, which greatly help with their job.

I'd be interested to know WHAT kind of DNA could do that. Happy
The story concept is very intirguing. Let's see how detailed it turns out to be.

To make them immortal they took samples from the longest living species on the planet. When combined the effects were cumulitive.

"Prolonged" life sounds better than "Eternal" life. Not to mention, the latter one is cliche. Sounds good. Good luck with it.

Thanks for the tip, prolonged it is. Thanks for the support.
EDIT2: All walkabouts are done. BTW I suck at walkabouts so be warned!! I am still proud of my humans though, it's just the animals that really suck.. At least I know one of my weaknesses. Also, due to the out of whack atmosphere the wind has become too weak to do anything. It exists but it is barely noticable. Due to this the water is stagnant and still, so I will just use a blank blue tile with light spots on it for the lighting.
EDIT3: I am being as creative as I can about my bitsets. For instance, NO SPELLS has been changed to (NAME) NO CONTROL, as in he/she has no control over the elements that the spells in this game are based on. Also, to reinforce the immersion factor, I have decided to change the Quit: Yes, no, to return to reality, or stay in my fantasy world of Cair Navon. Please post with POV.
Edit 4: Finished the first cutscene, now can leave city and enter map. Next step: Vehicles to get to the next part.
