Ok, to begin with, I have 1 rpg done and 1 in the beginning phases.
The first rpg does't load much. But the second, which I began about 2 days ago, takes very long to load a new or saved game.
Does anyone know why this is happening? The first has about 20 times more data than the 2nd one... _________________ http://hellyeahmyownurl.spaces.live.com/default.aspx?_c02_owner=1

A little help, please? Post more info about your games or, better yet, post the games themselves and we'll be better able to troubleshoot for you. _________________

And tell us about the computer you're running while you're at it. Chances are, your computer could just be very slow. But yes, show us the games and we'll be able to diagnose the problem a little better. |

I'm running on XP. As I said, my finished game loads quickly, but the one I just began takes a while. I'll probably post the first game(right after I fix a few details), but I won't post the 2nd one(The slow one), because it has only 2 maps and 2 battle formations. _________________ http://hellyeahmyownurl.spaces.live.com/default.aspx?_c02_owner=1

Hmm... the second one is the interesting case, though.
Troubleshooting: Try unlumping the file and seeing if one of the lumps is way bigger than the others. Check the raw size of the RPG files.
If nothing appears out of the ordinary, make a new RPG file and port everything from the old one to the new one.
If none of that works, upload or e-mail me your game. _________________

Check the sizes of the RPG files first. (You should know how to do this.)
If that doesn't yield interesting results, use "unlump" to unlump the file. Take a look at all the files in the resulting folder and see if any of them are very large.
If that does nothing, manually transfer all your work to a new RPG file. _________________

This is weird! I got discouraged on the game due to the slow load time, but now it's normal! So I continued on the game! 'Bout 1/2 of main story done, but if you consider the sidequests I have planned, about 1/3 done.
The weird thing is that I didn't modify my computer AT ALL! So, I really don't know why it works normal... _________________ http://hellyeahmyownurl.spaces.live.com/default.aspx?_c02_owner=1

I don't think his thread would have been bumped up to be noticed if he simply editted. _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...

Do you need any help with the game itself?
Note: Editing does not set the new posts flag for that thread. _________________ A broken clock is still right twice a day. |

Nah. I'm fine. Thanks, though.
The one thing that I may need help on later on when I release it would be the overworld map. The map looks a bit ugly. (Not too bad, things are easily recognizable). I mighgt ask someone to revamp those, but I probably won't. _________________ http://hellyeahmyownurl.spaces.live.com/default.aspx?_c02_owner=1
