Well, I finished a game, which I am satisfied with.(Except the graphics. They'redecent, but not WOW. Man, if I could do my graphics on paper, then they would rock!)

Anyways, I downloaded some Golden Sun and Final Fantasy midis and used MIDI2BAM. I then placed them on my game. Is it OK to post the game with those midis, as long as I give credit to MidiShrine? (That's where I downloaded them from.)

If you were to give credit to anyone, it would be to Square-Enix and Camelot Software Design as they own the copyrights to those songs. Not the site that holds copies of the songs.

As a side note you are better off searching for public domain music and using that, as games with ripped music automatically get a bad score for it.

This is a blatant lie. Most of the people here don't mind ripped music as long as it's used well.

Just give credit to the fact that the music is not your own. Fyre's right, you should credit Square, instead of Midi shrine, but Iblis is absolutely right: Most reviewers, wisely so, will not penalize a person for using classical or ripped game musics, so long as it is used in a manner which fits the piece, and isn't just ripping it to rip it.

Then again, those companies didn't make the MIDIs; they made the melodies and people made MIDIs that are supposed to sound like them. The website probably didn't make the MIDIs either, they probably found them and decided to host them. Of course, it'd be awefully hard to find the MIDI arranger for each song, and if they had them up for free, the arrangements are probably public domain anyway. The melodies are still copyright, however, so it doesn't hurt to mention that the original songs are from Final Fantasy and Golden Sun.

Actually, you should also check to see who made te actual midi. For example, on vgmusic.com, Hale-Bopp made most of the Metroid Fusion midis. Those people are about as important as the original creators, and should be thanked even more.
