Firstly, I couldn't find a decent place to post this so I just put it here.

FFH won't work on my compy. I was told that it's because I am using Windows XP and I "need to switch it around to compatibilty with DOS" but I know nothing about DOS, so... any help?

I haven't actually tried any other games, I was linked to the site on a recommendation to play FFH, and therefore haven't managed to have a good look around.

I'll try a few other games, then post my findings.

*e* Just tried 2 other games, Descendants of Zelda and Arfenhouse, neither of which had an .EXE file or any file that would work actually. Which I found quite peculiar.

yeah, you need to realize that you have to run game.exe to run the games.
without it, you'll never get them to work, but the reason you downloaded those games and saw no exe file is pretty much because it's generally assumed that once you download a game here then you'll already have game.exe.
(wow that sentence sucks.)

Download it here:

http://hamsterrepublic.com/ohrrpgce/download.php

You can also download custom if you are interested in making games (I hope you are.) If you have problems running sound in games, (or if you have problems running any DOS programs.) then get VDMS. There's one on the gamelist, but I don't think it's the most recent. Type VDMS in a search engine and it should pop right up.

Happy FFHing!

Well, MCW, there IS another way to run RPG files. Of course, you WILL need Game.exe, but you could just associate the RPG file extension to Autoplay in Game.exe

But that is impractical if you use VDMS :/ The best you can do is to get game.exe running under VDMS to start in the same directory as the RPG file.
