With a new program called Paint.NET
http://www.eecs.wsu.edu/paint.net/
It's a joint project between MS and the college. It can use layers and all that, and I find it's user interface to be a lot better than GIMP's.

seems much better than mspaint; if they include it with windows eventually, good. Although if i developed on that, i'd feel depressed; it's the generic-layered-paintprogram. As usual for microsoft, a clone. Maybe that explains the bugginess of their software: the development team feel too depressed about the project's blatant unoriginality to bother with thoroughness, and so do the project managers. haha.
The transparency of windows could be useful, though with a large desktop (2048x1536) it becomes redundant.
(and with X.org, you can do that independantly of the application anyway
Regarding the interface: how is it better than Gimp2? Does it implement any of:
a) painting
b) keyboard shortcuts
c) layer manipulation
d) dialog docking
e) file formats (very important, even more so if microsoft intends to include it with future Windows releases.)
either more powerfully or more usably than Gimp2 does? |

Looks nice, I'd say photoshop and the gimp are better, but hey it's free .
....I'm still using MSpaint though. _________________ ...eh? |

I've used it and I must say, it is superior to gimp. It has easy acces to transpareny so brilliant for web graphics. A tiny bit buggy, but other than that, great. |

Unfortunately, the site is DEAD right now, but I'll be sure to look at this later.
EDIT: After finding a download elsewhere, I realised I needed a newer verson of the .NET framework than I have. Fuck this. _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |

A very long time ago. _________________

I haven't found any big bugs in this program yet. Can someone tell me what bugs this thing has. That way I know where to find them, and I won't get an unpleasant surprise if one happens to pop up.
Thanks in advance. _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...

The erase to backround tool is a bit rough, when set to '1' it isn't perfecly square. It's something like:
x
x
Rather than just:
x
Other than that, awesome. |

I know. But I don't want to download that- this would be about the 3rd program I've come across that needs it. _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |
