These are graphics to Winterfold. A game that is being re-deveolped.

These Winterfold graphics I did at the begining of the year.

These I did at the end of the year.

An improvement yes? I think Ive improved have you?

So come on people post a shot a old town graphics and then under it post a shot of a new town graphics and lets see how mush you have improved...

An improvment?

The new roof is nice, the trees are also good, though the branches seem to have something wrong with them.

Theo nly thing I dont' liek is the fact that the snow still looks griddy. It doesn't blend. Also the roof on the smaller house is way the heck too big for the house.

Blend the snow. It really looks blocky at the top of the leftmost tree. Other then that, the rest of the graphics are very beautiful, especially the chimmny and the sides of the roof.

This is only the first layer...there is still the gound, grass, water...you know other stuff to be put in.

Excuse the trees they have not been developed yet, they will change.

It is only two threads because it is only thing I have done to the new Winterfold. After tommorrow i will not be able to go on the internet for the whole holidays so I think its better now to show whats coming.

I will do another comparrison after the holidays with the completed graphics.

Just those trees need to be done...

*By the way. You can just come to my house if you need to go on the internet to post things. I'll fix the drive.

The new roof tiles are almost "holy cow are those ripped" good. The snow, as has been said, needs some serious work, but at least it resembles snow now, which is a step in the right direction.

I give full credit to David Kale on those map tiles. What a great job Dave.

I have to agree with moogle1. Those are brilliant.

*Any suggestions on the snow would be great...

I think Iblis was the first to suggest dithering in the OTHER thread.
You know <.< >.>

Also notice blending the shades of the snow together was mentioned a couple times. That should create a good 'hilly' effect, but always remember where where your light source is.

...only two threads...?

Although I don't want to make a big deal out of this (it's really not, I just think it's weird), I cannot imagine how it would be necessary to have more than one thread about this. My question was asked because I thought two seemed like more threads than you needed, not because it wasn't enough.

Also, to make this post not a waste of space, I think the trees might look better in the style they were originally drawn in (as in, a bunch of twisted branches instead of one big pole). If they were redrawn with the level of skill you have now, they could very well look better than the new ones.

lol thread hijacking

Not really, part of this whole thread was for people to show off their new and improved screenshots from games they have been working on. Before and After shots.

*By the way, check out the announcements board for more details on the winterfold update.

Heh, the old graphics are almost painfully bad. Interestingly enough, though, Dogero's face (eyes and nose) hasn't changed.

But is that first screenshot Charbile's work or yours? It really doesn't say anything about either of you (in terms of progress) if the two are different artists.

those are some awsome changes, however I still see "grid" in the snow. my suggestion, get rid of it, and you will have yourself a nicely done maptiles. sort of like the SOJ2, you don't see "grid" there.
