After a loooong time of procrastinating, the 48 Hour Contest and working on Moogle's Scary Game 3 graphics, I've finally become motivated to continue working on Requiem by first getting rid of some crappy graphics that I dislike. Starting with the first village, January:

Here you see a before and after. I know the ground seems a lot more plain, but the over all look is much better than the original. Plus, the original was a fixed screen while the new one isn't (I had to remove a lot of little unimportant details on the housing just to fit the tiles into one tileset). Anyhoo, I'll be sure to post up any further updates (and chances of a demo are looking good for december)

Wow. They look a lot sexier (though less round, which is kinda diappointing). They actually also look "life sized", which is something most Super-Deformed style RPGS never do ever.

STOP "FIXING" THE GRAPHICS AND MAKE THE ACTUAL GAME SILLY. Raspberry!

Multitasking isn't multitasking without the tangy zip of Miracle Whip! Er.

Shadow's got a point, though. I want to hear about the game, too, not just see a (pretty, mesmerizing, can't tear my eyes away) fading old->new screen. Shouldn't be too much of a problem if you're multitasking like you've said/implied/otherword. Raspberry!

Even though they lose a lot of 3-D quality, I think the new style fits a lot better. Very nice.

In the "After" he looks like he has been mini'd or placed in a village of giants. ^_^

Both are good in their own way, but I especially like the "before" one. Are you making the areas screen by screen? It looks as if in both you used up nearly all of the blocks (or at least 3/4ths of them)

Either way, great art there. Looking forward to seeing more.

I think it looks pretty awesome, I'm prefering the latter better even though for once someone has made the enviroment on a larger scale compared to the heros rather smaller scaled like normal.

He means that originally, this map was just one screen, but now its larger. From the look of it, its about one and a half screens now.
