Everyone mind making a game based on reality game shows like Fear Factor, Amazing Race, or Temptation Island? I know it sounds silly but there are now a couple of games out there based on these type of shows... |

Woa... Sounds like a good idea! Yea, If I wasn't already weighed down with enough reality (homework, Japanese skits, and RPG contests/Secwet projects!) _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...

Sounds like a simulation if you ask me. And OHR Date did a good job at that. But, if you could choose what happened to the reality people in the game, then it would be more interesting. I would download it if someone made it. _________________ ---------------Projects----

If someone can make that type of game...
what these type of games need is more interactivity. |

I think it would quite a hard game to make unless you have a good subject, I dont think i would personally be interested in that sort of game, but if you can make it real good then why not

Of course RPG's need more interactivity thats why stories do not work you need a plot which can branch out into a range of possibilities for it to be fun _________________ I am making a game about thieves |

I don't think games should deteriorate in quality like TV has. Its probibly inevitable anyway, but...
Come on, man! A reality show game? |

I haven't seen too many reality shows, but it appears to me that it'd be quite easy to make a game based around the few reality shows that I *have* seen.

Stories have little to do with how fun a game is. _________________ im realy ded |

I certainly don't have the time to make it, but perhaps some ambitious little game designer could create a Survivor thing. Maybe it could involve the CP members and you try to kick the competiton off of the island (or whatever). Perhaps an extra feature would be to pick who you want to play as (probobly yourself) There would be A LOT of mini games and maybe quizzes that take your score. [save before you enter another "survival round" I believe is what they called the little competiton rounds in Survivor] If you lose, GAME OVER
Win by kicking all of the others out.
PS: I am not really dumping this on anyone, so do it at your own discresion. It would definitly involve a BUTT LOAD of Plot scripting and a psuedo code might be necessary for it. So that was my big idea. If noone does it, then meh. It would be for their benefit. (Too much reality piled on mah BACK!) _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...

A reality game would be ok if it were either a.) online or b.) had infinitely many possibilities for contestants. It is feasible, but I see it as nothing more than a novelty. The closest game out there to a reality show is Animal Crossing. I personally find that game unbelievably dull, but whatever floats your boat.
Remember if you make this kind of game: keep relationships intransitive! It will make the game more interesting. |

IMPROVEMENT:A reality game would only need good plotscripting and game design for it to be fun, graphics would only need to be recognisable to make a reality game very good _________________ I am making a game about thieves

Online! I think they might already have an online Survivor... If they don't then isn't it about time they do?
It would be a short lived game though... So on second thought, an online survivor might not be too fun. When you get kicked off, what do you do? Create a new character maybe? If your personality remains the same, then you would get kicked off again and again and that would get old...
Just don't form an alliance with Richard for the soul perpose of ganging up on poor old Leroy_Leo.
Anyay, this is a marvelous discussion. Who is going to make a reality game though? I haven't heard any volunteering. And Lionhart asked everyone to... That's what some like to call "shooting the moon..." _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...
