I spent the last few days adding screenshots to every game that lacked them on the gamelist, which means, and you guessed it, that screenshots are now required for your game listing, regardless of whether your entry has a .rpg file uploaded or not. In addition, I deleted any entries that contained ripped music to be used in OHR games. If you need to steal music for your games, do the legwork yourself.

And finally, if any of you notice any gamelist entries not abiding by these rules, could you please PM me? It’s a mighty task keeping an eye on the hundreds of games we have uploaded. Thanks!

wait... ripped music not allowed...?
oh boy, so that's no company-made/patented music allowed in the game...
i dunno, but i think it should be more along the lines of, "if the game has both ripped music and graphics it shall be deleted"

i understand the screenshot policy indefinately, but i really think the ripped music thing needs a little rethinking.
(if this post seems stupid, delete it <mods only>)

He meant files that are only ripped BAMs.

I think most of us had to re-read that line once or twice...

Woah...jynx...I was about to suggest that games without screenshots be deleted and screenshots be mandatory in my next "opinion" column....oooh freaky. Hey, is that The Twilight Zone music I hear?

Erm, anyway, yeaaah. I do have one problem with this. The reason you guys have the excuse not to let people delete their games from the gamelist is you want an archive, yet you delete games without screenshots. I can honestly tell you Stop will never be worked on in RPG format EVER AGAIN. So, if I want you to delete it, do I just remove the screenshot? (OMFG DESTORYING TEH SYSTEM)

Uh...yeah, but I think it is a good policy. Smokin'

Flamer- Yes, your post seems stupid. =p
I was refering to a few entries on the gamelist where people had just taken a bunch of popular midi's, threw them in a zip file, and put them up on the list under the guise of a general file for OHR music. Frankly, if anyone needs help finding Final Fantasy midis, they don't deserve to have them. No, no, no...;;

Shadowiii- Actually, no it doesn't. I gave several entries on the gamelist screenshots that just said, "THIS GAME HAS BEEN CANCELED" and left it at that. Better then actually having the person download the file, only to find out it doesn't exist, eh?

We do have OHRParadise....

Yeah, I agree ripped midis was a stupid thing to post, and I did it. Oh well, I have a whole lot of them and if anyone needs some good ones. Also, that scared me too. No ripped midis? Eek. That's just scary. I guess I can only make music with a DJ set, but not really in notate.

Yeah, so I agree to this totally. This makes perfect sense. Great Rule, CN.

That raises a question, CN. Should I leave up my MIDI soundtracks until the BAM library is up, or would you like me to remove them and just place them on Realmsoft's space?

I think you should be able to keep them, just put them in only one Zip so people don't have to go through so much stuff.

THANK YOU! Now only the people who care enough to find a sweet screen shot in their game, the people who care in general, are on the game list. There are less games to try out, and frankly they are generally the better games. CN did us all a great favor. + Shadowiii, you aren't freaking out, I think we all had a discussion about the game list problems in which something like this was suggested. It was a while ago, so no blame in forgetting.

CN: Are you planning on letting those people who don't go to CP very often know that their games have been deleted, as well as why they have been deleted? e-mail them out of common courtesy.

And I want to let you know to save you time looking, TTLQuest has an FF song! Ha ha ha! It's ok though. You best delete the old version now for the benefit of the next one, which I expect to have original music.

Leroy, CN didn't delete games without screen shots, he stuck ones on the ones that didn't have them. But now, AFTER the policy change, games will need screenshots to get in.
