Notes on graphics:
Thanks on the "if one set doesn't work, then they will." comment .
The gray color is a tile only color. It's never on Guy(Or any enemies.). Good call on how the colors were meant to be imagined as another.
Notes on plot:
Actually, the idea is that you must kill him properly, because before he cursed you. The idea is that Guy makes the same mistake as his dad did. You gather his body parts, revive him, and then burn him.
Notes on general gameplay:
Thanks for pointing out that subweapons improved teh atmosphere. That was the intent that subweapons are important.
Yeah, I don't know why you think the battles occur too often. The intent was that you have to think about WHERE you move.
Oh, and you can go in any order you want to. Except, you know, fighting Dracula first.
Notes on Battle Gameplay:
Yay for pointing out for "paying for it." Aeth should actually be the one commenting on this, as it's his section, really.
Notes on Map Design:
Again, you'll have to give your hat out to Me. Me did a great job with the maps.
Notes on Balance:
Congrats. You hit the idea of survival right on the nail! Cookies for you.
Oh, and I know how hard it is. I wanted a game that would challenge ME(thus ditching level ups).
Notes on Music:
Well.. none of us are really that great with music(except Aethereal.). Glad the music set the mood for you.
Notes on Enjoyment:
Thanks. Me and I(no I'm not schizophrenic) worked realllllly hard thinking up ideas for the puzzle.
Notes on Final Blows:
It should sound like a sequel. The idea is that we're going to make another game starring Guy with no limits on what we do. We'll work on the flaws you pointed out.
Glad you got to know Guy. Though he doesn't talk much, you should understand the way he thinks.

And.. that's it. Congrats, it's your best review on the site.

Yeah. It was a good game but like Mormon Mission, Shadowiii reviewed the game I did and trashed it down. Hehe. I give a B-, he gives a D. Eh, it's all people's opinion's though.

I would have been better if Shadow had compared the blueness to Happy Happy Village (or whatever it was) from Earthbound instead of that Picasso thing. Raspberry!

RMZ - It is my personal opinion you overrate games (ie Pitch Black doesn't, in my opinion, deserve an A), but each to his own.

As for TCOD, as well as PAC-OHR, considering the nature of the contest I probably should have judged them as "do something with nothing" contest games instead of regular OHR games, but then the reviews wouldn't stack up to the rest of my reviews (FFH and Me both got the same grade in my review!? Oops).

So...yeah. My main thing was that the battles were neatly organized, just seriously tedious and I fought way too many of them. The graphics were decent, and I really super liked the hero graphic way too much. The maps were good for what they were, but nothing original.

So overall, ok OHR game, excellent contest game with no resources. I'd like to see it remade/continued into a full-scale Castlevania fan-game.

Iblis - I never played Earthbound through (*gasp*) so I have no idea what you are talking about. Oookay... Smokin'

Follow up: In retrospect, I like how the average has turned out. Though my grade was a bit biased (I tend to judge severly on enjoyment and gameplay rather then graphics), I think its average grade (C) is excatly what it deserves.

And notes on Shadowiii's review...

When the hell did you get in a fight with 3 enemies!? Point it out to me please, because that is probably and accidental debug formation(that or when I accidentally made fights NOT one on one).
Yeah, I know about the tile part. I suck at making tiles differentiate(specifically with the colors I had to use.) Also, there was a pure white.
On the day-night thing. See, it won't just stay night for a really long time. The way it's set up is to where there are two maps that are different, but one is night and one is day. Thanks to a fuck up in map sending, the day DOORS take you to the NIGHT time. Yeah.. so that is a bit of a fuck up on our part.
On the uber-high encounters. That's an unfortunate side effect of improper file transfers. We kept bad tabs on who had the latest file. Another fuck up on our part. >.<
On HP increasing. Increasing the HP WILL make the game easier. I mean, there's totally no doubting it.
Tis too bad you missed the idea of survival, though. Oh well.

Oh, and, um, yeah we're not making a sequel. >.> Why we would never. <.<

I agree with Shadowiii now that I look at the average. My grade was close to a C. Therefore, the C fits it well. And besides, as Shadowiii said, each to his own. I thought it deserved what I gave it. And yes MCW, there was a fight with 3 enimies. Anyways, I would like to see it full-themed too. Except make the fight graphics a bit smoother. When Guy Belmont swings his whip it looks sketchy. I mean, they're good, they just don't contrast that well. And next time, hehe, use more color! Unless you do this next year...

Shadowiii, I just read your review, and I have to say that I agree with most of it. The reason the defend period was so short was because of a lack of attacks - one of the same attacks that was part of the defend was used by some enemy's attack (not sure which, I didn't do battles), and giving it a higher delay would make the battles last strangely long. The day/night switch after five seconds pisses me off - I set it to changing every five steps for debugging, then I THOUGHT I set it back, but custom didn't import properly, I guess. Oh, yeah, the day/night thing is supposed to happen every hundred STEPS. Using the game time clock was buggy.
And if YOU think you were tired of the color blue, what about me? I MADE THE MAPS. ARRRGH! When I finally finished, everything seemed to have a blue tint to it . . . it was FAR worse than what you could have experienced.
actually, taking into account the length of the game, you might've seen blue for a comparable period as me.
