I don't mind people ressurecting this thread, really. If people aren't clear with the rules, it's right to ask questions.

Added rule 1 (Librarian) : If you can add something of worth to a thread, regardless of how old, it's worthwhile. Constructive criticism is important, and if it can be shown that you have something to say about something that nobody else has, then by all means you have my blessing.

Added Rule 2 (Thumper) : If you can say NOTHING good, say NOTHING. This does not mean you can't say "I don't like this" - it means you can't post simply to tear down another's work because you don't like them, or you don't like the art form. Constructive criticism is not just building up an artist's ego - it's also telling them what "doesn't work" in their art, and then suggesting a way they could fix it so that it would please YOU. Conversely, if you're the artist, learn quickly that not everything you make is all "sunshine and farts".

Added rule 3 (Animu) : Anime and Manga style artworks are not the ONLY forms of acceptible art that can be placed here. Go wild. If you have a work done in the film noir style, post it. Landscape - post it. Modern art - (oh god WHY) post it. Joke art is also acceptible, but we'll pick it apart just like any other, so be forewarned XD

And also, if your art could conceivably be judged as "Not Safe For Work", put a [n] in your subject line so we know to look at it later. Also, instead of directly showing your image in question, just link to it instead. Since you guys have already been doing this up until now, I'll thank you for your sensibility. If I find anything out of order here, I'll just fix it for you ok?

Would artistic photography be appropriate for this forum? Now, as a note, I do not mean pornography, and promise I am not trying to fool you into allowing pornography, but at the State Fair every year there's always exhibits of various artistic photography, and I find the format fascinating, and am sort of considering giving it a go.

After some thought and a careful study of this forum's past practices, here is my ruling on photgraphy: ABSOLUTELY!!

So long as it follows the other rules, there's nothing wrong with photography at all. Also, since there is the "Big Picture Thread", it'd make no sense at all to not allow it when the practice has already been done without the slightest of problems.

Off topic posting. You know what thread I'm referring to. Or at least the thread I _WAS_ referring to. Listen guys, I'm all for a little bit of off-the-collar remarks and having a good time (All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, etc), but not at the expense of berating one of our other members.

I R STEELING UR THREDS LOL :flamedevil:

In what is sure to be a controversial decision, I've decided to split severely off-topic post-chains and also any and all flames that may creep up in the course of normal posting. If it's just a few posts, and nobody's being hurt by it, It probably won't be locked/split/mysteriously vanish or whatever. It's when it gets to be 4 pages long that I start worrying. Honestly, 4 pages justifies having its own thread, and sometimes I'd rather not see it go to waste.

Whiny Fen: But you put it in Paradox Lounge!

Shut up. Neutral

Also, if the creator of a particular thread wishes to see it closed, just ask me and I'll lock it as has been the custom these past few weeks.
