I need to copy a hero graphic to an attack frame (without losing the palette). Is there an easy way to move/export a graphic?

I only know one way...
1. Hit "PrintScreen" or find a program that'll copy the picture. Note that if this person has a black outline, you may want to fill the default "transparent" or "black" space around the hero picture with white or another color.
2. Paste it into your favorite importing program (Paint Shop Pro is the no. 1 for importing OHR graphics in windows)
3. Change the size and such to your liking. I can't remember attack sizes...it is in the HowTo on the OHR documentary paige (ha ha) on the main site
4. Transfer it to 8-bit. PSP is the best for keeping colors close to the original, and it is the only program I know how to do it in. Uh, yeah.
5. Import it and append a new pallet. If something is screwy play with it in the OHR until you get what you want.
This may sound like a lot of steps, but once you figure it out it tends to be a breeze.
Just curious...am I correct in guessing that this will be used as a hero attack to make his attack more...interesting? For example, leave the "cast" button transparent, then have the attack be the hero rushing at the enemy...that would be pretty awesome.
Good luck. If you need help, feel free to bug me. If you don't have PSP there is a free trail version you can get. It expires in 30 days but you can always just turn back the system clock so you'll have to use it wisely. _________________ But enough talk, have at you! |

Thank you,
The attack is for my hidden character who's spell list pays tribute to certain animes and other games and such. This one will be used to create a "Kage Bunshin no Justu" attack (from Naruto).

Well, if you wanted to do all of this in the maker you could just about hit Control C, then move to the sprite screen you want to work on in that area (only in that area, as in you can't send a hero sprite to an enemy sprite screen while in the maker) and then hit Contol V. This technique usually helps out a lot with walkabouts personally. _________________ ---------------Projects----

Print Screen doesn't seem to be working. (Something to do with using XP's DOS 7.0 maybe?)
Is there a util or something that will work for this? _________________ JMS * BlackFox * Omega0

Yes, it's XP. Ask someone using.. not XP to get them out for you.. that or take shots in-game and then import them etc. |

Try running GAME.EXE through dosbox. ( http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/ ) then you will be able to take screenshots no matter what version of Windows you are using. |

Thank you all.
I was able to get it working by F12-ing a screen shot out of GAME.EXE then cropping it in MSPaint then resaving as 16color in GIMP. (and aside from having to recolor it, it worked fine)
