Well it seems that the review for Neo Krysta III didn't go all too well. Apparently, the new approach to maptile graphics were disapproved of by some (cough..cough...Aeth), which is quite alright, and no offense taken.
However, Setu has been working on a series based on a manga he created called the Adventures of Hoshima. The game is on the list and only contains the first episode. You can go to the Realmsoft site to download the next one, but the third is in development. If I could get someone to review it, I would like that. I need some feedback to know what we can work on to better our projects.
By the way, Aeth, Lydon J. Thyadu is our terrain designer for all of our games, so he (as the designer for NK2) was guilty of trying a different method of design. The man only has a crappy 486 comp with MSPaint and ImagoWEB to work with. I think you should cut him some slack. Anyway, toodles.
For the other Hoshima episodes, go to:http://www.angelfire.com/anime4/realmsoft/games/hoshima/index.html _________________ -Raymond Ackenhouser (Sir Phoenix Drake)

Hey Drake,
All reviewers are instructed to review games as is, and not let personal relationships with the authors affect the scores, or to take into account what the creators were working with, or without. So basically, Aeth was right not to "cut some slack" for your terrain designer. If we cut some slack for people, then the reviews get skewed, and that's not helping the game's creators or the players. If you want better scores, improve your game, don't ask for pity points. |

I Made Dis had it's cutscenes drawn on lined paper and hasn't been rated below a 7.5 as far as I know. Don't let limitations limit you. Admit to yourself that your hardware and software may fall short in some areas. Leonardo Da Vinci didn't paint the Mona Lisa with nothing but a piece of charcoal... but he did create some brilliant sketches with just that.
While I'm here, I'd like to offer some advice and that's that you need to try in every area to make a good game, and leave out what you don't want to do. Don't feel the need to include dungeons if you're no good at desiging them, don't include mini games unless you can plotscript. You don't even need to include graphics unless you want to, same with text boxes (Though please include one or the other). _________________ BANDIT REVOLVER, DOWNLOAD IT OR ELSE.

It appeared to me that all the tiles in your game, except for a few tiles in the forest (such as the bridge and water tiles), were drawn outside of the program. Those particular tiles, in my opinion, were beautiful. I am also 99% sure that your sprites for heroes and enemies were drawn in the OHR. The enemies had little variety and almost no shading (especially the Knights/Soldiers). I failed to mention that in my review, which was careless of me, but they could have used some shading and touching up.
But my biggest issue was the gameplay...each character had only one spell and the battles were pretty boring (this was also an issue in NK2). I do think you guys were going in the right direction with the first two NKs (minus the gameplay), but the third one just left a bad taste in my mouth. _________________

So sorry, I was merely making a dull statement. No one on the Realmsoft team really took any offense. I didn't want it to come across as a gripe session. Honestly, we're taking on other projects where we're having Lydon stick to the original design method.
So I apologize for the alleged implication made in my statement. _________________ -Raymond Ackenhouser (Sir Phoenix Drake)
