Well, uh I thought Rau from Mark of Kri was ultra-cool, so I decided I was just like him. I found a bunch of screenshots of Rau in different cool poses, and "cut" his figure out and placed it on a black background. I picked the best one and, Voila! <strike>Yay for Ryu</strike . Um, my new avatar was made using the 8-bit Zero sprite set that MCW made. I took it and made an animation with it.
Edit: I just noticed you changed it to Leon. Oh well. _________________

My avatar came from the Hikaru no Go manga, which I cut and resized, and colored it (It's from the later mangas though, where he's grown up quite a bit). I'm very happy with the results . |

I just uploaded a new one for me, made from some quick spriting. It's just a guy unsheathing his sword. _________________ Preserve OHR history! Do it for the children! |

My first avatar was the face of the hero from Dragon Warrior III because I thought he looked awesome. I got it on a site called Dragon-Warrior.com, where I also obtained most of my ripped Dragon Warrior sprites and sound effects (the site died eventually, and I never got to use those sounds in an actual OHR game because that feature didn't get implemented until after I lost them).
My current avatar was made by me in MSPaint and animated on one of those "upload your images and turn it into a GIF" sites, since no art program I've worked with can animate the frames*.
* Unless GIMP can, but GIMP sucks because interface. _________________ "I didn't start the flame war;

GIMP can create animated GIFs but last I checked (several versions ago) it was really non-obvious. You had you make each frame a layer and put the frame delay in the layer name. _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |

If you don't mind having the same layer delay on all frames, then you all you need to do is save a multi-layer image as a gif, and it will prompt you for what delay you want to use.
it is also important to change the "Frame disposal method where unspecified" from "I don't care" to "replace" |

I used to use UnFreez http://www.whitsoftdev.com/unfreez/ a lot, but I have no idea if it works in recent versions of Windows, and the whole "It's not a virus, honest!" thing might seem kind of shady in retrospect, but I never had any problems with it. |
