| I wouldn't know, I've never played Star Ocean or Final Fantasy 7. Yeah, I suck. |

| It's because Star Ocean: The Second Story and the original Star Ocean are cult classics, and even Till the End of Time is a great game, but MADSOFT is trying to group it together with the now massively popular and over-milked Final Fantasy VII. |

no, you didn't get what I meant, I was just giving examples of RPG games that are more in the future than like all the other RPGs, Star Ocean and FF VII are the first that came to my mind, that's all.
And yeah, Star Ocean was, will, and forever will be a great game.

| Come on, give him your trust. Take it from me, an outlandish pervert sitting at his computer desk with one hand on the keyboard. |

Wow, it's just me, you two, and Rimudora (I think) on right now. This place is a bore.
But to get back on topic! Yes, I do believe your game could turn out to be very good, if you put your heart into it. |

lol.
Here's a little update, and some little questions:
I'm thinking of making the enemies visible on the map (touch to start fight, or avoid) or do you prefer the good old random encounters?
Also, the story will have the usual "crystals" you gotta collect, lol, it's actually important to the story, but not in any way you can actually think of. (Not: collect the crystals and combine to stop evil overlord, blah, blah, blah...)
Also, even though the game is in the future, there will still be swords (because guns are lame).
I guess that's all I have in mind...
Feel free to ask questions. _________________ http://www.madsoftgames.net/

With the random encounters... I'm fairly certain Final Fantasy games have always had random encounters instead of avoidable monsters. Just my input.
And the swords in the future... Yes, guns are lame. But GUNBLADES are freaking awesome. |

Some advice from someone who went the route of making a Final Fantasy fangame....
Don't.
Seriously.
You won't last a week dealing with fanmail from people asking you to make games with them.
You'll be saving yourself a lot of headaches, and I can promise you it WON'T turn out anything like you anticipated. Making a game from scratch is a much more rewarding route to go. If needed, plan out the details of the game beforehand, get some graphics together, then make it on your own time.
That, and to make a fangame, you have to be thouroughly familiar with the game, inside and out. And to have beaten it several times over. Nothing you've said has convinced me you've even beaten FF XII, much less are familiar enough with it to replicate the playing experience on the OHR. In truth, you'll probably get bored of the project after a month, then switch to another project.
I would sincerely hope you put your efforts elsewhere, but that failing, may you learn something from this attempt.
Also welcome back to the community, and good luck with your efforts. |
