The contest is now extended until Friday, November 10th. Entries must be receieved within that day to be eligible for a prize.
(In other words, Jesus guys! You're just going to give up that easy because you didn't have much time? Show some effort!) _________________ Allow me to preemptively disclose that I probably hate the person posting below, including myself. |

Thank you for your generous time extention!
The new deadline's about a week after I finish my SATIIs, so I'll be able to actually spend some effort on this thing.
[edit]: Nevermind. I spent my entire four day weekend playing Maple Story and writing essays for my college applications. |

Well, the contest is officially over. I'm kind of really disappointed with the turnout of participants, seeing how I offered prizes, but whatever.
In the next few days, Sarah and I will judge the games that we've received, and will announce the winner. Prizes will probably be awarded by xmas, as I'm going through some financial difficulty right now. _________________ Allow me to preemptively disclose that I probably hate the person posting below, including myself. |

| I was going to have a game for this contest, but I just couldn't get off of my lazy ass and get to work on it. Oh well... |

A couple thoughts about this... It's cool that you offered prizes, but perhaps the way you had it set up was a bit of a deterrent for potential entries. First, you gave only 11 days, which was a big turnoff for me, especially since you are requiring such a specific theme (vampires used in a non-traditional way) and your contest is called the "games that do not suck" contest. 11 days isn't a lot of time to make a game that's about vampires and is in a non-traditional genre and doesn't suck. Not that any of these ideas are bad in isolation, but I for one was seriously considering entering but was turned off by the short amount of time to make the game.
Also, you ran this contest at the same time RMZ was running his Halloween contest, which is a much more established tradition around here and therefore a much bigger draw. If you combined the pool of entrants of your contest and his, the contest would've been substantially larger, but unfortunately you guys were both drawing off each other. Perhaps a future contest could be run at a less "crowded" time for contests, and with a longer game making period?
Edit: er... Gizmog's Halloween contest, not RMZ's, right? |
